who\'s stayed at CBR?

We'll be there in less than 90 days WOOHOO and i'm wondering how awesome it is. Our last stay was at ASMo and we loved it. Are the rooms bigger? is the pool great? what about the water slide? Is the baby pool close to the main pool? (can i see both kids at the same time lol) How's the food? I'm hoping to get a room in jamaica, is the playground nearby? are the beaches nice? I'm so excited lol.

Re: who\'s stayed at CBR?

We have stayed at CBR twice now and loved it both times. The rooms are a decent size. The main pool is awesome and the baby pool is in the same area. My oldest DD love's the slide. My youngest DD loves the beach area. The walking path is beautiful and I used it as a way to get my youngest down for a nap every afternoon. The food court is good. They offer a kids meal - it's usually a burger and fries, but it's served in a bucket with a shovel. This allows the kids to play in the sand. At night, you can usually catch the fireworks from Epcot outside the food court.

I would recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a moderate hotel. It's wonderful and we have never had a bad stay yet.

I really enjoyed my stay @ CBR. I did find the main theme pool to be crowed, but on the plus side there is also a pool near your Room. The main pool is near Old Port Royal. I really enjoyed the bar near the Main Pool, have a Caribbean smuggler for me. I had excellent bus service during my stay, usually waited 10 minutes tops for a bus. Your going to have a great time!

I've stayed at CBR 3 times and I love it. The CM's are really nice there and we've gotten towel animals everytime we've stayed there!

Re: who\'s stayed at CBR?

I stayed at the CBR in 91 and Loved it. It is my fave resort along with Coronado. I can't wait to stay at CBR again, but have to try PO and Pop first before I allow myself to stay there again.

Re: who\'s stayed at CBR?

Our first stay on site was at CBR and we really loved it! We would like to stay there 3 nights this year if a room only code comes out for our dates.

The rooms at the value resorts are 260 sq. ft. and the rooms at CBR are 340 sq. ft. (this is a tad larger than at the other moderates).

We stayed in Jamaica when we were there - we really liked our location and view. It is a peaceful stroll over to Port Royale. One afternoon, we had a quiet pool all to ourselves.

Our best memory there is laying in a hammock watching the Epcot fireworks (you can see the high ones from here).

Enjoy your stay - I know you will!

P.S. - Kelly, if we end up at CBR I will look you up too

Re: who\'s stayed at CBR?

Add another CBR lover here! I've stayed there twice now and really enjoyed both times! Loved to swing inthe hammock and swim lazily in the quiet pool. We didn't eat at the food court last month (just to fill our mugs), so I can't help with the food. The sand onthe beaches is great (white and smooth)! We also always drive our car while at WDW, so I have no clue on the busses.

Have fun!

Re: who\'s stayed at CBR?

I love CBR! I haven't stayed there since 2000 and I think it's time for a return trip. It's really great that the rooms here are a little bit larger than the other moderate rooms. It's not a huge difference, but it's better than nothing. The food at Old Port Royale is pretty good as far as food court food goes. I never had a bad meal there. The pool is so gorgeous. I hope you fall in lvoe with CBR like I did!

Re: who\'s stayed at CBR?

After our recent stay at CBR - I am not sure if we'd stay there again. We sumitted requests both on our original reservation and via fax... and when we checked in and I asked about the requests I was told that none were on record (huh?? I made them) - I requested a ground floor room (remember CBR has no elevators - so you will be dragging your suitcases up and down the stairs) in Jamacia or Aruba - we ended up on the 2nd floor in Trinidad South - the boonies!!! We were so far from Old Port Royale - we never ate there or swam there or shopped there - and I make it a habit to do all 3 at any resort. We only drove the car since the busses seemed to take forever to get to Trinidad south and were always full to the max in May. Don't get me wrong - I think if we'd been closer to the hub (ok anywhere on the main lake - not the smelly canal in back) we would have had a better time then we did.... we were just too far away.

Re: who\'s stayed at CBR?

I''m sorry to hear you didn't enjoy your last stay at CBr. I remember staying in Trinidad South once years ago. it was a hike to everything. DD and I had brought our roller blades that year and used them to get around - I don't think you're alllowed to do that anymore, though. since then, whenever we've gone there we tell the front desk that we don't want Trinidad South and we've been moved some where else.
CBR is my favorite of all the mod. resorts. We've stayed in all the villages except Martinique. I'd recomend it to anyone. This year unfortunately(for me at least) we're staying at ALL Star Movies-DD couldn't afford to stay at CBR. I'll miss the island decor and the beaches: but I'm sure I'll enjoy ASMo any way.

Re: who\'s stayed at CBR?

We stayed at CBR once, only because our favorite moderate POR-R Alligator Bayou was full.

I'm glad we did. I loved their stores! I found so many unique items plus I was able to purchase a lot of Dshirts on sale.

Right now I'll have to say you'll have a marvelous time at CBR. I better or DD will be after me. She begins her Managment Internship there next week. She'll be there through January.

Have a wonderful time!

Re: who\'s stayed at CBR?

We have stayed there once and I too cannot say anything bad at the resort. Actually Im jealous that it has been refurbised, now I have to try and convince DH to do a long weekend trip there just to see what they look like now! We too were on the opposite side of OPR and had to walk over to the main lodge but found it wasnt that bad. Enjoy your trip, youre going to love it!
