Re: If you had a choice.... I've stayed at both and would choose the Grand Floridian. It is on the monorail, has beautiful grounds, and is a first class resort in every way. We honeymooned there so it holds a very special place in my heart.

Re: If you had a choice.... I've stayed at WL twice now and ADORE it - I always feel somewhat underdressed for the GF - but do plan to stay there at least once. It has the monorail which is nice - and WL has the boat which is nice too. I think they are each great resorts with great themes - I would choose WL - but thats just me.

Re: If you had a choice.... We've only stayed at GF, pre-children and post-children. I would never consider staying anywhere else. It is a beautiful hotel with lovely grounds, a variety of dining options and direct access to the monorail. If you have the opportunity to stay there, don't pass it up.

Re: If you had a choice.... I would have to say GF. I haven't stayed at any yet but will be at AKL in September. But if money is a non issue then my choice would definately be GF for the experience! I think it is just cool to live like the rich and famous at least once!

Re: If you had a choice.... I think, if the trip were totally paid for I would say the Grand Floridian. We've always wanted to stay there, but it's just economically not feasible. WL is our favorite and our home DVC resort, so we would always go back there. tenya

Re: If you had a choice.... To me, the Grand Floridian is just something lovely to view from afar.... although we did have breakfast there once. It's just so far out of my league to even fathom actually staying there. WL, on the other hand, is doable. So, if money were not an issue, I'd go for the gold.

Re: If you had a choice.... For me I have done both and I say give me the GF anyday! I love this resort for it's theming and its beauty, but stinko on the babysitting club. I like the transportation to MK and Epcot, but to get to DTD (for both resorts) is stinko. I didnt care for WL, but to each his own!

Re: If you had a choice.... [ QUOTE ] I always feel somewhat underdressed for the GF [/ QUOTE ] ![]() When ever we visit the GF for dinner or Character dinner, I always feel under dressed. Even if I'm not in my "park" clothes. It just doesn't feel as relaxed to me. It is beautiful but a little to proper for my style. I'm WL all the way. The minute I walk through those doors I feel at home. All my cares melt away. WL is my cozy home. We have stayed at many other resorts at WDW but WL is by far my favorite. And when we don't stay at WL, our trip often feels like we have missed out on something. I'm sure GF would be great but I'd choose WL over GF. Either way Enjoy your trip! Jennifer

Re: If you had a choice.... Wow...there are more GF fans here than I expected! I'm just wondering with a pre-teen and a teenage boy, if they may not feel a little more comfortable at WL? They LOVED AKL last time, so I'm thinking GF might be to "foo foo" for them. No matter what, I want to go to 1900 Park Fare for a breakfast. Maybe mom and I should go back one day for a mom/daughter type trip and stay in luxury!

Re: If you had a choice.... I have a 10 year old son (nearly 11). His favorite resort is Wilderness Lodge. He did really enjoy being at GF last year though too. (We've stayed at ASMu, CBR, WL, AKL, Poly, BWI, GF so he's got some comparisons). -HiddenMickey

Re: If you had a choice.... [ QUOTE ] I always feel somewhat underdressed for the GF [/ QUOTE ] We stayed at GF last year and found it to be very casual and relaxing. We didn't feel underdressed at all walking around in shorts and t-shirts. We loved this resort and would stay there again in a heartbeat. BUT, even though I would recommend GF, I'm thinking that your two teenage boys would like WL better (not so "foo foo"). If your boys loved AKL, they will definitely love WL as well. Honestly, you can't go wrong with either resort. Whichever one you choose to do this time, stay at the other one on your next trip (gives you something to look forward to)
