What can you tell me about Coronado Springs? We booked this hotel because 1)it appealed to both of us and 2)our original travel plans were to travel to the Yucatan Peninsula in Mexico and tour Mayan ruins, but our child care plans fell through and we weren't terribly comfortable leaving our kids for another country! So, with no other experience or knowledge than the pictures on allearsnet, I have no clue what to expect, or what we may love/hate about the place! What are your experiences?

Re: What can you tell me about Coronado Springs? I only visited my sister and her family while they stayed at CSR, so I can only give you a few small details. First, the food courst is awesome! Tons of choices but it was confusing for me to use for some reason. Here, unlike the other moderates, someone brought us our drinks and cleared our table. I don't know if they still do that. This is also a convention resort so it was very busy when we were there. The theming is very Southwestern. It seemed very warm and dry because of the theming. It was quite a walk from my sister's room to the food court/ main building. The rooms were larger than PO-R but not as large as CBR. There was a iron and coffee pot in the room. I think they may have even had a little fridge, but they may have paid for this. Finally, and most importantly, the game room had Ms. PacMan. How can you go wrong by staying in a resort that has Ms PacMan in the gameroom? ![]() Hopefully someone will be here shortly to give you real answers!

Re: What can you tell me about Coronado Springs? We enjoyed our stay there in 2001 for an anniversary weekend. We didn't have time to use the pool but it looked really neat. The only problem I can remember is that they gave us a handicap room with a shower only(I like bathtubs). The next day they were able to switch us to a different room. The lake is really pretty at night and great for a walk. They have the mini mice(small boats) and I think they also had the bike surreys to rent. Hope you have a good time.

Re: What can you tell me about Coronado Springs? Granted, it's not the real deal or the Yucatan Peninsula, but you should still have a great time at CS. Some of the others have stated that the Cabanas are the "romantic" area of CS. Maybe you could book a room there. Or was it the Casitas...hmm....

Re: What can you tell me about Coronado Springs? I have stayed there twice and absolutely love it. The themeing is definitely cool. It's a very quiet and peaceful resort. They do have convention folks there but you really don't notice them, at least I didn't. Especially if you are in the parks during the day you don't really notice it. I did like the food court but only ate their for breakfast so can't totally give you an full opinion there. The transportation was great, we never waited long for a bus and it didn't take us long to get anywhere. You are right near AK, MGM, and Epcot so it's a quick ride there. I didn't get to use the pool but it did look nice. I have stayed in the Casitas and the Cabana's and would probably suggest the Cabana's, especially 9A/9B or 8A/8B. THose are near both the main building and 1 other bus stop so in the morning I would go get my soda in my refillable mug and we'd hit the bus stop at the main building. The cabana's also have Hammock's sitting outside them which next trip I definitly want to use. I have to admit I don't think the rooms aren't that much smaller than the ones when I stayed at Wilderness Lodge. You'll have a great time!!! We are actually going to the Yucatan Penisula for our honeymoon. I do hope you make it down there. Hope all this helps

Re: What can you tell me about Coronado Springs? I stayed at CSR over Memorial Day this year -- my first stay there. I was in the Ranchos buildings. I usually stay in a deluxe resort, but I was quite comfortable at CSR. The rooms are large and inviting, and the Dig Site (main pool) is very impressive. This resort if very spread out, so you will be walking a lot. The Cabanas are the most centrally located buildings (between the Dig Site and El Centro lobby/restaurants). The Ranchos are closed to the Dig Site, and the Casitas are closest to the restaurants. Personally, I would select the Cabanas area. There are hammocks on the sand beach, and a nice bridge over the "lake" that gives good photo ops. Bus service was excellent, or maybe the bus gods were smiling on me! The food court offers many choices with a Southwestern flair, but I didn't care for the setup myself. Note that since I was there over a holiday weekend, there were always lines. The playground for kids and the main pool were fabulous -- I found it very relaxing just to lay poolside and read (I travelled alone this trip!) I made use of the convention facilities to access the internet and print out my Southwest airlines boarding pass! Very convenient, and the staff were extremely friendly.

Re: What can you tell me about Coronado Springs? I haven't stayed there, but on our last trip we visited the Dig site one afternoon. I was really impressed with this moderate resort and was almost sorry I didn't stay there and book 2 adjoining rooms instead of 1 at the Contemporary. The restaurants seemed like they had the typical fare. I had heard that the restaurants were priced higher b/c of the conventions, but the prices were just as high as everywhere else. The theme is great, the buildings are beautiful. The only thing that would concern me is that alot of the rooms look really far away from the restaurants and shops. I like to walk down and get coffee in the mugs and I wouldn't want such a long hike. I loved the beach and hammocks though. That looked great. So, I would just request a room in whatever building is between the pool and the restaurants ( the pool is seperated by a bridge and is also not too close to some of the rooms).

Re: What can you tell me about Coronado Springs? If I remember right there is a coffee maker in the room. I think my mom did that a couple mornings when I went with them a couple years ago.

Re: What can you tell me about Coronado Springs? We stayed here this past June and had a really great time. The room came with a coffee maker and iron. We also had a refrigerator. We were in Ranchos 7B and loved it here. It was very quiet, close to the dig site pool, had a quiet pool a few short steps away, and was close to the bus stop. We had 2 connecting rooms, which were large enough for 7 of us to fit comfortably. We went to the Pepper Market once and thought the food was great. You are given tickets upon entering, assigned a table, and then you take the tickets to the stations for stamping as you pick up your food. At the end, you take the ticket to the cashier to pay. The gratuity is already added (10%) so you don't have to worry about that. If you are going to the dig site pool, they have a bar and snack bar there where you can get drinks and food. There is also a playground, water slide, and arcade at the dig site. Every member of group (Ages 7-39) found something to love about the dig site. My personal favorite was the margaritas. YUM!

| Re: What can you tell me about Coronado Springs? I stayed at CS 2 years in a row and absolutely love it. My sister doesn't want to stay anywhere else now, she's worried nothing will live up to our experiences there. It's beautiful and quiet. The Pepper Market is great. We usually ate breakfast there, and would get a late dinner there after returning from the parks, usually a personal pizza or chef's salad. The salads are huge and well worth it. Not one negative thing to say about this resort, just LOVE it. You can't go wrong there. | ||||

Re: What can you tell me about Coronado Springs? CSR is a fantastic resort. It's beautiful, quiet, easy to navigate (unlike POR -- I made a habit of getting lost there), and offers many deluxe amenities (such as a gym, a beauty shop, coffee makers in all rooms) for a moderate price. My favorite part of this resort (and the part of it that I don't even think a deluxe resort can beat) is the prevalence of hammocks by the cabanas. I spent every afternoon of my trip last year snoring away in these; I've never been so relaxed in my life! I'll bet you a margarita that you'll love this resort!!

Re: What can you tell me about Coronado Springs? What is the best building to be in? We want a quiet place but with a nice view. We have already requested a first floor room due to mobility issues, and I don't want to be near the convention center. Thanks in advance!
