Staying at more than one WDW resort on the same trip? I have noticed that many stay at two or more resorts on the same trip. Is there some benefit to this? We have only been once & I want to learn anything I can to make our next trip as wonderful as possible. Thanks!

Re: Staying at more than one WDW resort on the same trip? Last year we went to WDW for 10 days. We wanted to experience 2 different resorts so we split our stay between AKL & GF. For us, it would just depend on how long our trip is for. If we are going for less than a week, we would probably just stay at one resort the entire time. Longer than a week, and we might split the stay. The only benefit I can think of is getting to experience the magic of two resorts in one vacation. We had a great time at each resort and there was no hassle at all when it came time to switch to the second resort. Have fun!

Re: Staying at more than one WDW resort on the same trip? Sometimes it just comes down to $$$.... What's the sense in spending a lot of money for a luxury resort when you are checking in at 8pm? might as well just spend the night at a value resort. In other cases, it comes down to DVC points..... Friday and Saturday nights cost twice as many DVC points as Sun-Thurs do. Stay at a nice resort for Friday and Saturday and don't spend any of your points, then check into your DVC resort for the rest of your stay... if you do it this way, you may be able to budget-in two WDW visits per year.

Re: Staying at more than one WDW resort on the same trip? Thanks so much. I would like to stay at POFQ next time, but I was also thinking of Riverside. Maybe since they are so close, I will book both. That is a great idea, to experience two resorts. I would love to go more than once per year, but I don't see that happening at least for a few years. Thanks again, Angela

Re: Staying at more than one WDW resort on the same trip? We've experienced two different resorts our last two trips (both for 10 days). One was WL/BC and this year was AKL/BC. One factor for us was cost, as it's cheaper to stay at the WL/AKL than BC, but another was to experience two different resorts. It makes it feel like 2 different vacations ![]() We're going for 8 days in December, and I'm not sure if we'll stay at 2 different resorts on that trip or not.

Re: Staying at more than one WDW resort on the same trip? A few years ago we stayed at WL for 3 nights and then BC for 3 nights we were so glad that we changed... Now I am thinking of Contemporary for 2 nights and then a moderate for 2...just because we will be eating at Chef Mickey's and Ohana's...

Re: Staying at more than one WDW resort on the same trip? We're doing two resorts for the first time this December, AKL and GF. I'm really looking forward to being able to experience both, as I haven't stayed at either yet. What it came down to for us was that DH really wanted to try AKL, but I kept thinking that transportation via bus everywhere with a 2 year old might get old since we were planning on 8-10 days there. So we decided to go with 10 days and split the stay so half is at GF where we're so close to my favorite park, MK.

Re: Staying at more than one WDW resort on the same trip? The next time we go to WDW, we are going to stay at 2 different resorts b/c I am impatient and can't wait for 2 different Disney trips to experience the AKL and WL! I just want to try them both! Hopefully it won't be a pain to switch and we will enjoy experiencing the differences of the 2 resorts (like restaurants, pools, etc.) That's my take on it! Stephanie

Re: Staying at more than one WDW resort on the same trip? For me, money plays a big part! Plus, I'm impatient and want to try 9 or so "new to me" resorts so the sooner the better For this next trip, DH will be with me for part of the time, then DD and I alone, then my parents are joining us. So it will sort of be a transition from one phase of the vacation to the next.Plus, last time we stayed we didn't stay with the Dalmations and I was in BIG trouble

Re: Staying at more than one WDW resort on the same trip? The benefit of staying at more than one resort during a WDW vacation is mainly, as others have stated, the ability to try different resort themes on the same holiday. We tried this last August by spending one week at Animal Kingdom Lodge, followed by one week at Wilderness Lodge. Personally, I would never do this again unless I had no other alternatives. While Disney handled the whole luggage transfer thing quite beautifully that didn't change the fact that I had to pack up everything in the room and then unpack again at the next resort. I'm a real nester, even while on vacation, so I found that having to uproot myself like that really detracted from the overall, relaxed flow of my holiday. Joy

Re: Staying at more than one WDW resort on the same trip? We are doing AKL~ WL in Nov. Mainly because we can't decide which one we want to stay at. They both appeal to us in different ways. When we are at AKL we will do AK and MGM and eat at Boma's. We planned a rest day in the middle of our vacation and we will switch to WL Deluxe room that day. Then hit MK and Epcot Chef Mickey's WCC and Campfire. It was the best way to please everybody

Re: Staying at more than one WDW resort on the same trip? I guess for me is that I have set a personal goal of staying at all the resorts. So our March trip we rented DVC points online for OKW...and it cost more for weekend nights so we went ahead and stayed one night at the newest resort, PC and then one night at the newwest deluxe, AKL! As a child we stayed at many of the deluxe resorts. So all I have left is: Contemporary PO -Riverside ASMu ASMo Coronado BCV Boardwalk! I have goals! I've also found that it makes it like little mini vacations! We feel as if we are going on 2 or 3 vacations instead of just one! We also coordinate our packing better to be able to switch easily! I'd recommend it...you can also coordinate good money savings this way! By staying at the value resorts on more expensive nights like weekends...and the deluxe resorts on cheaper nights like during the week! Definitely consider it, if you have a group that wouldn't be too hassled by the move to another resort it is always a great idea. We just have DD 11 yo..and then 3 adults so it is no hassle...but if you have small children...sometimes it is hard to move around alot!

Re: Staying at more than one WDW resort on the same trip? We've never stayed at more than one resort either, but plan to in '06 for our 25th Anniversary trip! I'm thinking 4 nights in the CR Tower and then 5 nights at the YC! Can't wait!!

Re: Staying at more than one WDW resort on the same trip? If we stay for more then 5 nights, we've tended to split our resorts. As mentioned above....it's almost like having two different vacations in one. -HiddenMickey
