Bunk Beds at AKL

We are staying at the AKL starting December 18th, and we have requested a room with bunk beds. Has anyone made this request and been turned down? We have two girls which will get cranky if they have to share a bed for too long.

Thanks,

Re: Bunk Beds at AKL

I requested bunk beds in April and did not receive them. However, I was traveling with 2 children and no other adults. Perhaps if you are a party of 4 they will oblige...but there are a ltd. number of rooms with bunk beds. GOOD LUCK!

Re: Bunk Beds at AKL

Don't forget to simply fax in your request to AKL 4 days before you arrive. They are so nice there about trying to give you whatever you request. We have always gotten our requests at every resort. Last Dec we were at AKL, and they even upgraded us to a savannah view from our pool view reservation (I had not requested any upgrade). I bet that you will get the bunk beds. If fo some reason you are not assigned a room with one, simply ask at check in if they can switch you.

Re: Bunk Beds at AKL

We've requested bunk beds but I don't think that there are too many rooms that have them. I remember reading somewhere the number of bunk bed rooms but I can't find it now.

I figure that no matter bunk beds or queens, we're in Disney at the AKL - it's going to be great no matter what?

Re: Bunk Beds at AKL

If getting bunk beds is your most important request, make sure you have that listed first under your requests on your reservation. We haven't been turned down before, even when the resort was 100% full (AKL). But, the rooms with that configuration are limited, so you never know what can happen.

Re: Bunk Beds at AKL

we also recieved our bunk beds as requested at AKL but oh too bad it meant an upgrade in the type of room! We did have a backup plan for not getting the bunks. Our 2 teens were NOT going to share a bed so we brought some options for rotating sleeping on a pallet on the floor. Both kids were ok with this option too as they are the younger ones of 4 and often get kicked out for at relatives homes etc. They knew bunks were a request not a promise.
that said, the bunks were the best! they had their own space and we had a wonderful 7 days at AKL. I think it was our best vacation ever and we just did alot of hanging out at the resort.
hope you will say the same after your visit there.
