Just back from Wilderness Lodge..Any ?\'s

I've just returned from the World. The WL was truly amazing! I cannot say enough about the wonderful staff there..who are so friendly and helpful. No matter what I needed from housekeeping or maintenance, they showed up within a couple of minutes..with a smile! The room was clean and in excellent condition. And we even got towel animals. We requested nightly turndown service and arrived back to find beds turned down, pillows fluffed and chocolates (lots of them) placed on our pillows with a card of a verse from a Native American Proverb.

The entire Wilderness Lodge experience was sensational! What a great treat it was to arrive back to the resort late in the afternoon and find all the Christmas decorations up..truly beautiful!

If anyone has any questions...just ask away!

Welcome back Lynne! I'm so glad that you had such a great time at WL - it's my favorite WDW resort. And I totally agree with you about their staff being amazing. I think that's probably the top thing on my long list of what I love about WL.

We'll be at the WL next Sat. Dec. 4. Can you tell me if the rooms have fridges? I've read that they were to be installed at no charge. We've already requested a fridge, but it'd be great if we didn't have to pay for it!! More money to spend on "more important stuff"! Glad you liked the lodge.....I really can't wait to see it!!

Lynne, Glad you had a great stay. We always do too when we stay at the Lodge. We were there last weekend and we were really excited to see the Christmas Decorations up already. Just beautiful

There is definitely NO CHARGE for the fridge. Here's what you do...

When you check in, tell them you want a fridge. They will tell you that it may or may not already be in the room. Then if it isn't in the room, dial housekeeping and tell them you would like a fridge sent up as soon as possible. (It should take no more than 15-20 minutes...ours only took about 10 minutes, and we got two fridges..one for each of our rooms). They will plug it in under the double sinks in the bathroom vanity area. It's a little dorm size fridge. If you have tall items to store (like milk or a wine bottle, etc) just remove the shelf in the middle (it slides right out..and just place it on top of the fridge), which is what we did to fit the half a gallon milk. There's a shelf in the back and room in the door to store some items too, like bottled water. We fit a good amount in there, despite it's size. It was very handy to have, especially at night when we were too tired to walk down to the gift shop to buy anything to eat, etc.

Thanks, Lynne! With children, it's always a help to have lots of food and drink on hand in the room, so the fridge will help...especially if we don't have to pay extra for it!!

Re: Just back from Wilderness Lodge..Any ?\'s

Just a word of caution about the 'fridges and their locations- on our last trip there, we had 2 connecting rooms and the staff put the fridge in the handicapped accessible room, plugging it into the wall next to the King bed. Well, this fact didn't register with me when I arrived, exhausted, and promptly fell asleep. When I awoke it was dark and on my way to the bathroom and the light switch, I ran into the fridge, full tilt! I don't know if those wall ever heard some of the words I came out with- in fact, I surprised myself ! We moved the thing into the other room, under the sinks and had no more mishaps! Leave it to me !
