Re: Grosvenor Resort at Downtown Disney-good or bad?

Wow, must be nice to know someone on management. I wish I did. We loved the Grosvenor. We did the Murder Mystery Dinner, which I also highly recommend. Wow, what a show. We found the staff to be extremely helpful and informative. We may stay there when we do return in 10 years. Unless we get a better deal by staying on site. We were impressed with just the overall apprearance of the front lobby, resturant and restrooms. I would go for it and don't forget to do the Murder Mystery Dinner. The banana lady and maggie are hilerious.
O by the way, since you will probably be without family, this area is extremely congested, no cross walks and cross walk lites. People drive like idiots, but then they do that during rush hour anyways. Not to start anything, again, but after seeing it? AND watching a lady with a buggy trying to cross? I would not with family try to cross that intersection. In my opinon I find kind of scary. It is four lanes of crossing Buena Vista and 2 lanes between Grosvenor and DTD. Otherwise, use caution when crossing and enjoy your trip.

Re: Grosvenor Resort at Downtown Disney-good or bad?

Barry,
My cousin stayed here a couple years ago on her honeymoon and they really liked it. They said the room was nice and clean, and they enjoyed the character breakfast (I think it's with Goofy). Sorry I couldn't be of more help. Hopefully someone who's stayed here before can pop in with some info for you.

Re: Grosvenor Resort at Downtown Disney-good or ba

I don't know about the hotel, but I've stayed in the DTD hotel area before and would have some reservations about the bus system. They use nice busss which run reasonably often, but unless it has changed all of the hotels share one bus. The Grosvenor is at the end of the line and I saw many full buses pass them by and leave folks waiting for the next bus. You might want a car of your own for better transport to the parks.
The intersection to DTD is indeed quite busy, but I did cross it without major complications when I was there.

Re: Grosvenor Resort at Downtown Disney-good or ba

Thanks for your views so far guys. I will have a car and it will be with my family but interesting note about the bus system-that happens with many hotels that run "free" services to the parks. I had read that the lobby and general area downstairs was very good but the hotel rooms themselves were (some that is)not up to standard ie damp, smelly, tatty...one report just said "YUK!"....so it does make you wonder if these are just the odd unlucky guests or not? Keep those views coming though...looks like it might be "Pop Century" or something now! Thanks again passporters.

Re: Grosvenor Resort at Downtown Disney-good or bad?

I've never stayed at the Grosvenor Resort but have stayed at the Hilton and Marriott Courtyard in DTD and I found them to be musty and damp feeling. Not quite sure why they can't control that problem but it must be the location since they both were like that.
