Contemporary rooms? Well, through the magic of Jean (why did I ever do this myself?) we have gotten a great rate for a garden wing standard view room. I have never stayed at this resort before and am looking for advice on room location. We don't mind walking to things, i.e. bus stop or monorail. More important is the view!! I would love to have a view of Bay Lake or if possible MK. I would like to avoid a view of the pool or courts. Thanks so much!! Only 110 days left!!!

Re: Contemporary rooms? Belle -- you know we love you!! I think michnash might have some info for you; she and her family stayed there (in a tower room) in March. She might have the scoop on best garden view rooms. Can't help you any more than that! Sandy

Re: Contemporary rooms? It's been 5 years since we did the Contemporary Garden Wing...boy have I learned a lot since then! Ok, try and stay in the wing nearest the MK. You can walk to the MK from there if you want to (I can't remember if this is South or North -- as you're looking at the hotel from the front, it would be the left wing). This wing is also closest to the food court, but far from the pool (although the walk is not that bad). I'd think you'd be better off with a Bay Lake view -- don't think the MK view would be real good. Try and get a room on the 1st floor. You get a little patio and you can sit out at night and watch the water parade.

Re: Contemporary rooms? Belle* That's one of my favorite resorts. Move back down the board a ways, to 4/30, peedeejones - Contemporary Room Question. I think I got a bit over detailed, but you may find what you want there. Hope this helps you. Email me if you want more detail. Disneyfan

Re: Contemporary rooms? We are Contemporary lovers. But it's been quite awhile since we stayed there, and now that we bought into DVC, it'll be a verrrryyyy long time until we go there again! However, Belle, I agree with Beth13. I, too, would stay in the wing to the left of the front entrance. Walking home from MK at the end of the evening is HEAVENLY--no crowds, no waiting for the bus/monorail, you can take your shoes off (and let's face it, by then the ol' dogs are barking no matter what kind of footwear you have), and just slowly return to the hotel. And read the bricks along the way...they all have a little story. We never minded the walk to the pool, etc., it's not very long and because you're at Disney, there's always so much to see! And the view of Bay Lake is lovely. Enjoy your stay....

Re: Contemporary rooms? Disneyfan, I just re-read your post from 4/30 and just wanted to make sure I understand...We too are staying at Contemporay and if I wanted the closest garden wing room to the tower,in the North wing, I should request #7101? Is that right? And that would be with a view of the lake. Right? OOOHHH I'm so confused. But really having a ball planning this holiday! This board is great! #7101

Re: Contemporary rooms? mermar, Yes, that would be correct. Rooms 7101-7115 will be the closest wing to the tower and give you the pool, lake view. I'm sorry if that was confusing. The bldg is in such an odd shape. DisneyFan
