First Time Using CRO, and First Time to WDW! I'm planning to visit WDW for the first time next April or May, and I've been dutifully reading my PassPorter and these boards for every hint I can find. Can someone help me with the following: I'd like to try the Poly, maybe concierge if I can afford it, and the BWV (probably a 2 bedroom) during our stay. There will be 4 adults and one toddler. I called CRO to inquire as to availability and rates, and I was told that Disney Club discounts won't be made available until about September, and DVC won't be releasing BWV rooms until about September also. I was told by CRO that I could make a reservation for Poly now, but if a Disney Club discount becomes available at a later date, I'd have to call CRO to cancel my first reservation and then call the Disney Club reservation line to make a new reservation there. Does that sound right? From what I've read, it seems as if it's a lot easier to amend a reservation rather than having to cancel in one office and then make a new reservation in a different office. Please advise as to what's the best thing to do. Thanks!

Re: First Time Using CRO, and First Time to WDW! Sounds like a great trip coming up. As for CRO and the reservations. Yep, that's how they do it. I have made reservations a long way out and called back later for the DC (MKC) discount. It is just a paper work (computer work?) shuffle. You will only have to make one phone call the second time. Just call the DC 800# and they should be able to do the whole thing. While you are on the phone they will give you a new confirmation # for the discount. I fact I just did something just like this yesterday. We have a DVC reservation for August. All but one day are on our points. The last night is a cash reservation. I called and landed a 25% members discount for that night. They will send me a new confirmation sheet. Good day now. [ 06-28-2001: Message edited by: Disnydad ]

Re: First Time Using CRO, and First Time to WDW! Ditto what Disnydad posted....DC reservations are different and handled differently from regular CRO....I had to do the same thing (book reservations, then cancel when I got DC rates.) It's not such a big deal...mainly new paperwork from Disney....And my philosophy is "A reservation in my hand is better than 2 in the bush!!!"
