AKL - Transportation and Rooms

We have reservations for AKL in December and I am wondering what the transportation is like there? Any complaints? Also, what rooms have the best and most conistent views of the animals? Thanks!

Re: AKL - Transportation and Rooms

No complaints with transportation. (Except for one night from hell trying to get back from MK, but I think that was a fluke and didn't have to do with AKL, but all the resorts and lack of buses). The bus stop at AKL is actually very nice.

We were on the Zebra Trail with a Savannah view. We were NOT disappointed. Nothing like going out on the balcony in the morning and enjoying the view!

Re: AKL - Transportation and Rooms

A friend of mine was there in June. They had a room off the zebra trail, on the back side of the pool. She said she had breakfast with the giraffes every morning at 6:30. She said it was great. The only problem they had was the hold your balloons hostage for your stay. If you get balloons wait til the last day.

PS as far as the transportation I don't believe they had any problems. She never mentioned it & She would have mentioned it

Re: AKL - Transportation and Rooms

I just returned with my 9yr.old DS from a 4 day stay at AKL. Room 2501, excellent view, zebras, giraffe, etc... each morning within 50 ft. of our balcony! Also a great view of the sunset over the Kudu trail wing from here. No problems with the buses at anytime, never waited more than 15 minutes to go anywhere!

Re: AKL - Transportation and Rooms

We loved the AKL. I would go back there in a heartbeat. I actually would like to go back with just my husband and no kids and not even go to the parks!

For the most part Transportation was fine. We did wait at AKL for 40 minutes for a Downtown Disney bus. They are supposed to run every 20 minutes, but ran into problems that day for some reason. No problem at all getting to other places.

We stayed on the second floor Zebra Trail. It was magical. My favorite thing of 2 weeks in Florida.
