Anyone booked at Pop Century for next year?

I was quoted $99 a night. I am hoping for a better discount sonmewhere along the line. Any one who has already booked- What was your quoted price.I looked into the Polynesian and was quoted $334 for a standard view room!!!!! I just know there has to be better rates than that. I do have a Disney Club card but the discounts for June are usually on 10% and for the value resorts there is no discount.

If it makes you feel any better at all, we're paying $565 per night for a deluxe concierge room in the main building of GF. If I could keep my accomadations, I'd be happy to trade rates with you!

peedeejones--
Do you belong to AAA? They are offering discounts on value resorts for next year. You can CRO to check for those rates (room only not available through AAA, just CRO). -HiddenMickey

Re: Anyone booked at Pop Century for next year?

I was thinking about doing AAA now but I looked them up online and there cheapest membership is $52. Do you think the discounts will save me more than that? Do you have any experience with AAA discounts?
I was wondering how good they are.

Thanks
Jennifer

I haven't used the discounts because I've been able to get some other discounts, but probably will try for future trips. Depending on when you are going, the discount could be 15-20%. You could get your money's worth very easily if you stay for just a few days. Plus AAA is great to have just for peace of mind while driving your car.., they also offer all sorts of other vacations. They are the only way you can get a discount on a 2002 room reservation right now. -HiddenMickey

Re: Anyone booked at Pop Century for next year?

Hidden Mickey - I just made "room only" ressies through WDTC (called 800 #) for Toy Story room at ASMo, 5/18/02 to 5/24/02. Requested AAA rate, CM said they don't give any discounts for that resort as it's the most popular. If I read your post correctly should I call the CRO # (407 W-DISNEY) & see what their rate is, availability, then book through them & cancel other reservation made through WDTC? I thought that CRO was going by the wayside? Or just let it go. . . . what do you think?

Re: Anyone booked at Pop Century for next year?

I booked PC for May 2002 with a AAA discount of $93.10. It's not a huge savings, but every little bit helps.

Re: Anyone booked at Pop Century for next year?

TZMOM---
I would try CRO. They can book room only discounts (which is what you are looking for if you want the AAA discount at this time). That being said, ASMovies is almost impossible to get AAA or DC discounts on....it is very popular and they know it can be booked easily without offering discounts. Now that is not to say that they never have discounts....I've read on another board where a couple people have been able to get them. To me it would be worth it to try again a few more times. Also, as an alternative, if you book ASMusic, it is right next door and you could use the pools/playground and food court at ASMovies easily. Hope this helps. -HiddenMickey
