Which resorts are most convenient ??

I'm asking this question for a friend who is planning a trip in Feb. -- This year they are travelling with a 2 yr old DS, plus both sets of grandparents. HAve always stayed at DxL (and loved it there), but would like to be closer to everything and not lose so much time travelling...
What suggestions would you all give as to where they should stay???

Re: Which resorts are most convenient ??

If they are traveling to WDW in the beginning of the month, I would suggest that one of them get a Annual Pass and try for a AP discounted rate at the Contemporary or Polynesian when those rates come out (not until late fall most likely). This assumes that they expect to spend a lot of time at MK (most people expect to when they have little kids). Otherwise I would probably choose CBR for the moderate rate and the fact that it sit between a lot of the parks. No one park will be a long drive, but none will be short (well maybe MGM and DD). -HiddenMickey

Re: Which resorts are most convenient ??

I actually think it depends on your touring agenda, but you can't go wrong with any of the monorail resorts for convenience. You can walk to MK from the Contemporary, which is great and Epcot is a hop skip and a jump (transfer) on the monorail circuit. The Polynesian and Grand Floridan are especially awesome resorts, but they are more expensvie - put you get what you pay for in WDW just like anything in life. I'd agree that the CBR is the best choice for a moderate in terms of location. You can't go wrong there - it's a great resort for kids, too!

Re: Which resorts are most convenient ??

We found the Contemporary to be VERY convenient when we traveled with my 3 children - then 7,8,10 - and my parents (70's). We spent most of our time in the MK and found it very convenient to take mid-day breaks. It really depends on where your friends think they'll be spending most of their time.
