All Star Music

I just booked All-Star Music for one night-we are starting our vacation a day early-and I am wondering what the resort is like and what everyone's personal favorites are for buildings. Also, which buildings are close to the main building and food court? We got a good deal at $59 per night through an ad in our Sunday newspaper. Thanks for your input!

Re: All Star Music

Hi Stretch,

Congrats, you got a great rate!

We stayed at ASMu in June, and really enjoyed it, so will be staying there when we go back in December.

ASMu uses bright, primary colors, and has the following buildings, each themed as it's title Calypso (closest to food court, etc.), Jazz (where we stayed, next closest to everything, and my favorite), Broadway, Rock and Country.

There is a food court with a good selection, as well as pizza/wing/sandwich delivery to the rooms.

Check out my trip report for more details, or let me know if you have any specific questions.

Hi Tikibird,
Did you use the WDW bus? If so, was it timely? We are staying there over Easter 2002. Thanks.

Re: All Star Music

Stretch,
I truly enjoy all the AS resorts, so simple yet you have a surge of Disney magic everywhere you look. Everywhere at ASMu is a fairly short walk to the Food Court, it's not a long trek like at some resorts. So this way when I go to an AS, I try to request the building whose theme I like best, Tennis at Sports, rock at Music, and Dalmtians at Movies (although I got Toy Story ) Since you have an opportunity to choose from 5 different musical themes, how about picking the one you like most?

Re: All Star Music

Hi RCF,

I unfortunately cannot answer your question, as we rented a car, and everytime I suggested we try the bus just to see how well it operated, I was voted down big time!

It did look like the buses ran often and well into the evening there were still people headed over to Downtown Disney.

Re: All Star Music

We stayed there last September in Jazz. We never had to wait long for a bus, sometimes they were sitting there, of course schools were open and it wasn't extremely crowded. Over Easter vacation, it may be different.

Re: All Star Music

You'll like it there. Although it may not be as elaborate as the deluxe resorts, the All Stars are just fine. Actually I was able to get the Sports for $49/night for my upcoming trip! With the little amount of time I knew I'd be in the room, this resort was fine with me. You may want to ask for a room in one of the Calypso buildings. These 2 face each other, the main pool and are right next to the main building. Have fun!!
