| Re: Value Resort vs Moderate vs Off site Welcome to the boards mousetown! You have a lot of criteria that will really help you narrow down your choices. They seem to be: 1. Save as much $ as possible 2. Easy access to and from all the parks 3. Decent food court 4. Nice pool You might have to get a price on this with AAA (I'm not sure how they work regarding releasing rates), but why not look into Coronado Springs? It's not as basic as a value resort, but it's as expensive as some of the moderates. The Pepper Market food court is one of WDW's best, and the pool is amazing too. The bathrooms are small, but the rooms are a bit spacier than the All-Stars. Second to that, you could also look into PO. Good luck and have fun planning! -Jose Carioca |

| Re: Value Resort vs Moderate vs Off site I think the food courts are easily the equal of restaurants off-property at similar price, and you'll probably like the variety and convenience better than most restaurants. Of course, if you're looking for McDonald's pricing, you'll have to leave your resort. For a party of four either the moderates or value resorts will serve nicely. There will be more floor space at the moderates, and the moderates have a two-sink vanity area, rather than a single-sink at the value resorts. The pools at the moderates are more elaborate, boasting water slides and hot tub spas. But the water is just as wet at value resorts and the pools have fun theming. I know the kids will be very happy, regardless. I don't think size of bathrooms is that much of an issue. All Disney moderate and value resorts have the sink/vanity area outside the bathroom (just like BC), which greatly helps with the morning rush. The bathrooms themselves have enough space for full-sized tubs and a toilet - again, little different from the BC - what more is needed? |

| Re: Value Resort vs Moderate vs Off site Wow - we stayed at the Hard Rock Hotel this past July and it's every bit equal to ANY of Disney's Deluxe resorts - you will just love it. We had a pool view on the top floor and could also see both parks - the only drwaback was no balconies . For Disney - I personally wouldn't ever consider staying offsite again. Just wouldn't be a Disney trip without a Disney resort. We love the resort formerly known as Dixie Landings and actually thought the food court there was good. Kids loved it, very nice setting - can't go wrong! Good luck - and have fun! | Re: Value Resort vs Moderate vs Off site Are you staying in Orlando area for the whole month of July? If so, look into an annual pass and then you get very good discounts on resorts. If you must leave property to head to another park, check out Discovery Cove/Sea World. Swim with dolphins and stingrays. Really cool. |

| Value Resort vs Moderate vs Off site Please Help!! Where going to the world 6/28-9/13/2002. DH, DD, and DS and myself of course! DD age 13 DS age 8. DD has been to WDW many times DS(stepson)and DH has never been. :-( I have only stayed at the BC (7 times) but this time were on a budget. I was considering the following: Length of Stay: Universal and IOA or seaworld = 3-4 days looking at hard rock with entertainment discount ($119.00-$140.00) or $164.0 with AAA Disney= 5-6 days HOTELS: *One of the All Stars *Moderate *Holiday Inn Family Suites LBV *Deluxe if a good rate is to be found I know discounts are not out yet for 2002 except for AAA which I was quoted $274.00 for BC Transportation: Were driving from Iowa as we want to stop along the way Priorties: *Pool Habits: *Usually go to the pool in the morning and hit the parks around 2:00pm when everyone else is heading to their rooms for a afternoon nap. *Not wanting to run to every park all day everyday so that I will need a vacation when we return home. LOL Park Priority: 4 or 5 day hopper? AK MGM WDW EPcot Discounts: AAA DC I guess my question is value vs moderates and which moderate? From reading the posts/reviews on this board and others it seems that the food courts are not very good which means always driving off site. Also, are the bathrooms all small? Any input and suggestions? Thanks a bunch!!!!! |
