How are the busses for CBR and Pop Century?

Well, because of the ap rates we've changed to PC from ASMO for the first 4 days of our June stay. That's cool, since we've never been there...to either really! What I'd like to hear is how the busses are for both resorts? Are the busses at PC better than All stars since you're not sharing with 2 other resorts? How is CBR? Please let me know!!!! Ruth

Re: How are the busses for CBR and Pop Century?

I can only address CBR - it depends on which 'island' you're staying at and which entrance the bus uses. They travel all around the resort before going to a park, so if you're the first stop you have to sit thru all the other stops. There is also an internal bus that stops at every location (including Old Port Royal).

Some buses begin the CBR loop at Martinique and continue to Old Port Royal, Trinidad North, then South, Jamaica, Aruba, and finally Barbados before exiting CBR. Other buses begin at Jamaica and continue to Aruba, Barbados, Martinique, OPR, Trinidad North, and Trinidad South. You could have a long or short ride depending on where they started.

We always allowed at least 45 minutes to get where we were going - that included walking to the bus stop, waiting for the bus, riding the bus then walking to the park entrance.

We were in Aruba which wasn't too far away from Old Port Royal (across the bridge). Most mornings we would get a park bus from there after breakfast, since all buses stop there.

Re: How are the busses for CBR and Pop Century?

Buses typically run every 20-30 minutes for the theme parks and about every 10 minutes for the internal resort bus.

I'd allow at least 45 min as well to get to a park in the mornings.

We only used the bus at Pop for the Magic Kingdom and it was fine. On the way there, there were 11 people on board, including the driver!

You'll be fine!

Re: How are the busses for CBR and Pop Century?

My bus experience at Pop in December was not the greatest. The busses ran on time, and got me everywhere quickly, but every bus I got to or from Pop was full, Fuller, FULLEST. The people who were standing up were crushed shoulder-to-shoulder from the back seats all the way to the white line. I'm glas i'm not claustrophobic or I would have had a panic attack on several of those busses.

That's what we found with the All star busses in the past. We were hoping they'd be better...guess we'll see how it is our week there. Thanks everyone! Ruth

Re: How are the busses for CBR and Pop Century?

I stayed at PC in November 2004 and loved it. Overall the buses were very efficient. From time to time you would have a bus that was standing room only (but I imagine this "could" happen at any resort). PC does not share buses with any other hotels.

Re: How are the busses for CBR and Pop Century?

The only problem we had with CBR buses was coming back from MK after the fireworks. Had to wait for 3 buses until we could get on one. The all stars were much worse in that instance.
As far as leaving the resort to go to parks neither one is bad. You are on the bus longer at CBR because of stopping at every island, but it's bad at all.

We've always found the bus service for Pop to be very efficient. The most we've had to wait was half an hour and we had a priority seating to get to the Magic Kingdom but other than that, a 10 minute wait tops.
