All-Star Resorts My DH, DS(who will be 4 years old) and I are visiting WDW in November and will most likely be staying in an All-Star resort. I was wondering what is everyone's opinion on them and which one is the best. Also, the last time i went was before they existed, so how close are they to the parks and how is the bus system?

Re: All-Star Resorts You'll like them.....especially your 4 yr old. Our first trip we stayed at ASMusic and my kids still talk about how much they like that resort. My son even asked to go back there in April, when I gave him his choice of any resort (he's 8 now), so I made reservations there. Only now, we've decided to stay at WL, since we found a great rate for our dates. The kids loved the room, the food court, and the pool (even without having a slide). Great memories. We thought the bus system worked great (Oct 1999) and never had a problem with it. In fact, we thought it worked so well, that we haven't taken a car to WDW since that first trip, cause we were spoiled by being driven everywhere. The resort seems far from the parks (esp MK) but the ride is never as long as you expect it to be. -HiddenMickey [ 01-31-2002: Message edited by: HiddenMickey ]

Re: All-Star Resorts We stayed at the All Star Music also in '98. I have no other experience to compare it to since it was our only trip to date. We enjoyed the ASM very much. We were in one of the Jazz building -- nice location -- and as HiddenMickey said we have fond memories of our stay there. Buses were great! We didn't have a car and we had no need for one. In 54 days we're giving the All Star Movies a shot!

Re: All-Star Resorts we stayed at as sports one time and we did not like it at all,we had to park a mile away from the room and it was loud. for $20.00 more you can stay at a moderate resort and the extra 20 is well worth it ( and i am cheap )lol

Re: All-Star Resorts Our stay at All Star Movies (Fantasia building May 2000) was great! We was near the pool a little. We never came back to the room till after 1 am anyway. So I cannot tell you how it is in the day time on the noise. The food court was great. Make sure that you get a Hot Fudge Sunday. The busses was to us one of the best rides in the whole park. Not a lot of waiting and if you did there is the gift shop there so you can look out the windows for the bus. The video arcade was ok by my DD but she loved Quest better. Make sure if you do stay at Movies that you take some time to walk around. There is a nice playground and great places to take pictures too. I would tell you but then it will spoil the fun of finding them. We have not stayed at any others in WDW so I hoped that I could help you on this. We are going back in September this year and will try to get the Toy Story one this time.

Re: All-Star Resorts We stayed at the Sports in August 2000. We had a good time. BUT, there were ALOT of kids due to baseball/basketball championships that were held at the Wide World of Sports. We were lucky and had a room FAR away from the pool and the courtyards. So, we didn't have much noise. The food court was good (but not as good as POR) and the kids loved the pools. The closest park is AK, which is about 5-10 minutes away. MK takes about 20-25 minutes to get to. MGM/EPCOT are about 15. The buses were great. We only waited more than 10 minutes for a bus on a couple of occasions. If I needed to save $ or extend my trip, I would stay there again. But, I would stay at Music. It seemed much quieter there.

Re: All-Star Resorts Hello Tangent Staying in November you should be able to some great deals!!! Look for them. I would have to agree with Dorothygail. AS is very noisy. The wait to use the pay phone (teenagers) was extreme along with high spirits of teens. We stayed in Movies and loved it!! If it is an all star go for movies. The buses are not exactly great. There are often long waits and lines to ride. Also the pick up points at the parks are usually the furtherst from the park entrance. (a serious consideration for the end of a long day of walking). The accomodations are small and the amenities are along the lines of Motel 6 but clean!!!! For a little bit more you can stay in a moderate hotel it is well worth the extra $$$$. On our next trip we will be staying at BWV (rented points from a friend)and AKL.

Re: All-Star Resorts We just got back from 4 days at All Star Movies, and 2 days at WL. It was fantastic. The girls (age 8) loved the Fantasia pool. We were first set up in "Herbie" section, and then requested to be moved closer to food courts, and busses,"Dalmations" section. I would highly recommend January, good prices, and no lines, we walked onto most rides. Longest wait, not even 10 min. Wilderness Lodge was beautiful, the girls loved the pool slide. Resort hopping is great, and the resorts transfer your luggage for you.

Re: All-Star Resorts Wondering what the rate for November/beginning of December 2002 would be for the All Star Movies. Not over the holiday weekend either. I also have the Disney Club card.

Re: All-Star Resorts Heidi- The Official WDW website was advertising prices as low as $79/night for non-Florida residents and a meager $49/night for Florida residents for those periods this past year. Cheap, cheap. Yay! Mari
