Re: Disney Vacation Club?? Take your time. If you go to WDW often and like the Deluxe type resorts it can actually save you some money. Here is another resale site for you. Even more DVC resales

Re: Disney Vacation Club?? I just joined in May, purchasing a resale at Boardwalk Villas. We stayed there on our last trip and even took the tour. I couldn't afford the investment at the time, but when I finally could, I made the plunge! For an initial $10,000 investment and about $400/year I'll be able to spend a week at Disneyworld nearly every year for the next 40 years, in a studio. Considering I spent about $2,500 for my lodging on that vacation, it will pay for itself in a pretty short time period. I can also "bank and borrow" points and stay in a one or two bedroom every two or three years and bring family or friends. The program is really flexible, in addition to staying "on property," I have heard of members who have made wonderful exchanges and stayed in New York, at a Dude Ranch, and in Santa Barbara. I wish I could have afforded it 10 years ago when the program was first introduced!

Re: Disney Vacation Club?? Ursunique, Disney wants everyone to join so they make it easy. They have a program called Magical Beginnings (I think that is what they call it). They buy back some of your first years points and help with a down payment. Then they will also finance your purchase for you (at good rates), they do not turn anyone down. We bought ours before the cost increased, but we have a 10 year loan for ours that costs us less that $120 a month. It will pay for itself in no time. I think disney uses the rule of thumb of 3-5 years. Mine will be closer to three!
