Re: Uh-oh! Contemporary\'s booked!

Thanks very much for your advice. I am now considering AKL for 2 or 3 nights being that the bus system works well for that resort! Any tips on what room/building to ask for? We will have to get a "standard" room to keep rates low. Any suggestions?

Can't wait!

Re: Uh-oh! Contemporary\'s booked!

AKL is a phenomenal resort and gets a bum rap for being "so far away". Keep in mind it's closer to the Animal Kingdom and the Disney Studios! Also the bus service is very convenient! It's a fabulous resort! You'll be glad you booked there!

If you are getting a standard savanna room ask for the third floor - the best vistas are from this level!

HAVE FUN!

Re: Uh-oh! Contemporary\'s booked!

I've stayed in both a savannah view and a standard. If you get a standard, ask to stay on the side over the gift shop (toward the buses). You will have a quick elevator ride down to the pool area and a short walk to the restaurants from there. Fourth floor is a good choice for a standard room. -HiddenMickey

Uh-oh! Contemporary\'s booked!

I posted before regarding what deluxe I should stay at with my dh & 2 yr. old (using codes). We finally decided on staying at the Contemp. because we're doing the MVMCP, and thought since that may be somewhat of a late night for our little one, a close resort would be best to get back to our room quickly.

Well after finally reaching a decision, I called Disney and Contemp is booked for the code rates for the entire week we're going! I was so disappointed!!! I did ask about WL, which was booked also. Only things available are AKL and Poly which the Poly was 199. with code rates and is a bit out of our price range. What to do??? Is the transp. from AKL inconvienient w/ a 2 yr old? I just feel like if I'm going to spend $$ for a deluxe, it should be close and convienient (because of our having a toddler with us). HELP!

Re: Uh-oh! Contemporary\'s booked!

Transportation from AKL is all buses.....but you don't share the buses with any other resort (as every other WDW does). Very convenient...in my opinion AKL may have the best bus service at WDW. -HiddenMickey
