Disney Vacation Club

Can anyone tell me about this. Why would it be worth my while to do this. It seems like someone also mentioned that as DVC member when you make you reservation that your park passes are included for the length of your stay,... is this true. Is it cheaper to do DVC than to just go regular every year?

Re: Disney Vacation Club

You don't get passes included, however you receive a 10% discount on the length of stay passes(ultimate park hoppers). We purchased into the DVC in October, it was final in November and we are members until 2042(i think if not, it's 2040) anyway, it's about 40 years. It's really great and Disney will finance it for up to 10 years, you can make payments monthly on your own, or it's a little cheaper to have them take it out of your checking account. It's really up to you. It also depends on how many points you buy. We bought 200. Our first trip as DVCers is June 22-30 and I cannot wait! There are so many "privileges". You can contact DVC by phone or the next time you are down there, sign up for a tour. I did it by myself as my husband didn't go on the trip and came home, told him about it and he was hooked. He's not much of a disney person, but there's hope for him.
There is so much to the DVC ! You don't have to just visit WDW! There are member getaways and you can literally go around the world! You can visit Disneyland and Disneyland Paris! It's worth just calling and asking for material.
The number of the lady who sold me mine is 1-800-827-8737. Her name is Linda Scolaro. She's super great! You can PM me and I can give you more details too!!

I forgot something else. Here's a link to it. you can't access the members only pages until you become members.

IT is worth it and is way cheaper than paying rack rates because you only use points per night instead of dollars. However, we are going down in April, not as DVCers but because we got the really great rates and we are surprising the kids.

Re: Disney Vacation Club

Hi. The free passes you heard of were in the early days of DVC. It ended about 1999 I think. As said, the only discount on passes is the 10% off Length of Stay passes. I'm really not sure what they call them now as Disney changes the name every other year it seems. We buy Annual Pass, so do not use the discount.

Here are some other DVC links that you can look over:

Deb Wills DVC page

Mouseplanet DVC page

If you ask a DVC member, chances are they'll say they wish they joined earlier.

Oh, the deeds expire in 2042.

Hope I helped.

Re: Disney Vacation Club

We have been DVC members since 1994 and we did get free passes until 1999 and it was wonderful. OKW is our home resort and we have 210 pts there and 50 add-on at HHI resort. This allows us multiple trips each year and it has been well worth the price. We were just there for New Years at OKW and are returning in June to try BCV. It is a great plan, very flexible and of course, Disney Magic!

Re: Disney Vacation Club

We became DVC members on our last trip last month and worked out the initial outlay would pay for itself in just three trips.

As well as that, we'll save money on what we spend at the parks, as we'll be able to have breakfast in our room, rather than buying it in (that was at least $5 a day for the two of us) and if we want, we can have dinner there of an evening. Staying at an ordinary Disney hotel, you've got no way of cooking. At least even the studios (certainly this is the case at the BCV, our home resort) have microwaves.

Another advantage for us non-Americans is the freephone number you can use to make your PS for meals. We had to pay previously for an international call each time we phoned Disney to make our PS for this last vacation.

I would recommend the DVC to anyone who loves Disney and goes on a regular basis, at least once every two years. It's a lot of money upfront, but it will pay for itself over time.
