Seven Seas Lagoon Beaches Whatever happened to swimming at the Poly and Grand Floridian Beaches? The beaches have been closed every time I've been down there for years, but what happened? When I was going with my parents in the 80s we always went to the beach at the Poly.

Re: Seven Seas Lagoon Beaches I also loved swimming in Seven Seas Lagoon. We did this when I was in school when we'd stay at the Poly. I thought I read somewhere else that it was due to possibly alligators (but if so then I wouldn't be too keen on renting water mice ) or maybe bacteria count in the water. Whatever the case, I sure miss it!!

Re: Seven Seas Lagoon Beaches That was what we had heard as well. Back in the old days, there wasn't nearly as much boat exhaust being run into the water. Thereby making it quite polluted. I have never seen any alligators in WDW waters. Unless you count the ones near the pool at the French Quarter .

Re: Seven Seas Lagoon Beaches A combination of things, including boat traffic, increased bacteria counts, expense of life guards, and yes, various indigineous species which visit all the WDW waterways at one point or another. Anne
