Polynesian Concierge or Yacht/Beach Club Concierge We are travelling to WDW this August with three girls aged 10, 7, and 2. I am really torn between the Polynesian for the monorail because of the 2 year old but I love the idea of Storm Along Bay for the older girls. I have decided that the deciding factor will be resort with the most favorable concierge service. I did not read great things on Deb Will's site about Yacht or Beach Club concierge so I think that I am leaning more towards the Polynesian. Does anyone have any experiences with the concierge services at either of these three hotels? Is Strom Along Bay as great as it sounds? Thank you for any suggestions.

Re: Polynesian Concierge or Yacht/Beach Club Concierge I think one of the best things the Poly Concierge has going for it is the huge picture window in their lounge which looks out on Cinderella's castle. It is wonderful at night watching the fireworks with the piped-in music as you sit and sip a cordial and have dessert! However, the regular Concierge building is down for rehab this summer and the Concierge service has been moved to another building. From what I understand, their lounge is just set up in the middle area on a floor in this other building. While the CM service is great at the Poly Conceirge, I would opt to try another hotel's Concierge this summer.

Re: Polynesian Concierge or Yacht/Beach Club Concierge Out of the three you mention, we have only stayed at the YC concierge and loved it! In fact we will be there again in November. Stormalong Bay is great! For your 2 year old, there is a great kid's section that has a sandy bottom and also has a great sand area for playing. For the older two there are a few areas for them as well. I know a lot of the kids love the water slide and also playing in the 'whirlpool' section of the pool. Again, since I've only stayed at the YC, I can't give you any comparison to the others. I do know however, that a friend of mine stayed at the Poly (non-concierge) and her kids loved the Volcano pool and they all loved the convience of the monorail to MK.

Re: Polynesian Concierge or Yacht/Beach Club Concierge By August the Polynesian Conciege will be in temporary quarters. The Hawaii building where it resides now will be under referbishment. They will be using two rooms in the Tahiti building for the foods and the seating areas on the second floor for the concierge desk and the third floor seating area as the lounge. There will not be the big picture windows out on to the lagoon. Normally, my pick for concierge would be the Poly as I've read great reports about it, but since they are doing this refurbishment during your dates to stay, I'd go for the Yacht or Beach club. -HiddenMickey

Re: Polynesian Concierge or Yacht/Beach Club Concierge We just back from staying Poly Concierge and we won't try another concierge because the Poly's went above and beyond what we expected. The chef's at the Poly concierge are AMAZING! Especially Chef Dick. We had awesome food and I mean awesome. Breakfast; assorted cold cereals, hot oatmeal with brown sugar, bagels, english muffins(they have 3-4 toasters available), sweet rolls, and mini muffins. Fresh fruit, whole, skim and chocolate milk(you must ask for chocolate), Kona coffee, tea's, orange juice and bottled water. Midmorning-Early Afternoon; Pop, bottled water, jucies, iced tea, coffee, hot teas, fresh fruit and fabulous cookies, M & M's, Runts and gummy worms. Early Evening; HUGE cheese, veggie and fruit trays, ranch dip and carmel dip. Crackers, and a main dish. Some examples; Chicken Ceaser Salad, Hot Nacho's with all the fixings, Sushi, Chicken Lo Mein and much, much more. 3 different wine selections, pop, juies, coffee, tea, water. Also for the kids, PB&J sandwhiches, usually another sandwhich offering such as chicken salad or ham and cheese. Out of this world brownies that taste like fudge and fresh strawberries. Late Evening; Cordials and desserts. It's true that Tahiti will house concierge from June through the end of October and you will not have the big windows, but Tahiti's view is awesome and the food and view aren't the only reason to pick Poly's concierge. The service, friendlyness, and joy that you feel from the staff also make it the best experience you can have. This will not change during the rehab. You honestly feel like you come home each and every day when you return to the concierge building!

Re: Polynesian Concierge or Yacht/Beach Club Concierge BTW...I've also heard that Storm-a-Long Bay is a great pool, but I must tell you, all my kids, 14, 12 and 5 LOVED the Volcano Pool at the Poly. My 12 year old also loved the the quiet pool because it was deeper and he enjoys swimming under water. The water slide at the Poly Volcano Pool is a lot of fun! I rode it more times than I care to admit!

Re: Polynesian Concierge or Yacht/Beach Club Concierge We are going in two weeks and I could not decide between Poly or Beach Club, so we are staying at both. Beach Club for 3nights, than 4 at Poly.

Re: Polynesian Concierge or Yacht/Beach Club Concierge We stayed Poly concierge this past Feb. It was fabulous! So much that we are returning in Aug. Please let us know how you like the two hotels. I'm curious because in Aug Poly concierge will be in Tahiti. I hope it's as good as before or close to B&Y club. Enjoy!

Re: Polynesian Concierge or Yacht/Beach Club Concierge Howdy! For the last few years, we have stayed at the YC Concierge and love it. Last year was enjoyable with the new room decor and the few added perks that they did for us (with exception of one cast member). We keep saying that we should try a different hotel room, but we keep going back to the YC! The pool is the best and is great for all ages to enjoy (I have a 6 and 11 yr old). We also like the fact that we are not "stuck" on YC property only. Usually once a day we take a walk around the loop and grab a snack over on the Boardwalk and see some side shows that are going on! Have fun planning!
