Re: WL Experiences Hi Krista! I'm afraid that I can't help you with your request for info about WL as we're staying there for the first time from August 21 to 28. But I just wanted to take this opportunity to welcome you to the boards. Joy

Re: WL Experiences Thanks so much for the warm welcome and all the WL info!! I have to say there are other Disney boards I occasionally look at when I need a fix, but the Passporter boards are by far the most friendly!! I am so glad I found these boards. Krista

Re: WL Experiences One of my favorite memories at WL was watching the Electric Water Pageant from either the beach or one of the public balconies in the hotel. It's such a sweet and Disney-like experience that I'm sure you will love. The theming is so complete that you can't believe you're in central Florida (except for the heat!). Hope you enjoy it as much as we do.

Re: WL Experiences Hi and Welcome! Make sure you take some time to have a romantic stroll in the evenings. WL is a beautiful resort. Also I second the recommendation to not miss dining at Whispering Canyon Cafe. Mel

Re: WL Experiences Welcome Krista! Everyone has given such good ideas so far. We really enjoyed sitting on the balcony drinking our bevvies while taking in the awesome scenery. The rooms are excellantly ( is that a word? ) themed. We highly recommend Whispering Canyon Cafe for a good time. Artist Point is definately more upscale dining. Walking along the pathways and watching the guyser in the dark is romantic. We were there for our honeymoon and ended up having champagne and mickey glasses with a rose waiting for us one evening, compliments of WDW. Enjoy yourselves whatever you do and can't wait to read that trip report when you get back.

WL Experiences DH and I are going to WL in 16 days for the first time. We are so excited to go and experience a new Disney resort. I was wondering if anyone had some WL stories to share, good or bad. It can be about the Lodge, the rooms, the restaurants, or the CM's--whatever you would like to share. Thanks in Advance, Krista

Re: WL Experiences Hi Krista Welcome to the boards We were just at the WL in May. The resort is beautiful. The lobby is gorgeous. We had a standard room that looked out over the smokehouse, but that was fine, we didn't spend too much time there anyway. They had a nice kid's pool, and the larger pool was great as well. We got refillable mugs from Roaring Forks, which was great and we used them alot. Definitely worth it. We also ate at Whispering Canyon for breakfast one morning, which was great. We didn't make it to Artist Point this trip, but have done it before and it is also a wonderful restaurant!! Taking the boat to MK was nice, although we did encounter a very long wait trying to return one night (over an hour). We didn't really have any problems with transportation to other parks. We did a combo of bus transportation and we took our own car a couple of times. Everyone was great. We were lucky enough to get towel animals everyday from our Mousekeeper, which made it worthwhile also. I'm sure you'll have a magical time!! Enjoy your stay!!

Re: WL Experiences The WL is a great resort - you'll love it! We especially enjoyed the Courtyard views and make sure to dine at Artist Point, which is one of the best restaurants onsite. Have fun and welcome to Passporter online.

Re: WL Experiences Welcome, Krista!! You are going to LOVE the WL!! We stayed there twice and it is totally awesome!! The rooms are lovely. The pool is fabulous!! There is a geyser which erupts every hour on your way to the boat launch to the MK. The boat is great and the water view on the way to MK is spectacular!! If I had never stayed at AKL after WL, it would still be my favorite resort!! Have an awesome time!

Re: WL Experiences Howdy! We have stayed at the WL too, but for us it didnt rank as one of our favorites. You will love watching the water parade every night, but just hope that there isnt a stomach bug going around in the hotel like when we went down...not pretty. But aside from that, it is very well themed and tastefully done. Hope that you enjoy your trip!

Re: WL Experiences Welcome Krista! We stayed at WL in November and really enjoyed it. Here were the highlights & lowlights: 1. Beautiful theming. 2. Beautiful lobby and pool. 3. Our room was woodland view, overlooked the quiet pool. 4. Unfortunately our room was mistakenly in the smoking section, found out after we were unpacked and didn't want to move again. Room was ok but halls reeked at times. 5. Geyser was broken when we went. 6. Food court can get really busy, especially when one register is broken. 7. Ate at Whispering Canyon for dinner one night, food was good but for all you can eat we preferred Chef Mickey's. Antics were cute though. My son fell asleep in his plate, but that's not their fault! 8. Boat ride to MK was really nice.
