Radisson Resort Parkway - Has anyone stayed here?

Hello

We are staying here during our trip, and was just wondering if anyone has stayed here? Also what did you think, easy access to WDW, any info would be great.

thank-you

Re: Radisson Resort Parkway - Has anyone stayed here?

Hi pmlskr My timeshare is actually across the street from the Radisson. I've been in there for breakfast and to get coffee at Starbucks!! It's a nice place. I like the location, it's across from Celebration, it has restuarants and walking paths. It's only 5 min from WDW. I however can't help the how it is aside from that. I know I just like the location, it's just of I-4 on 192W. Hope you have a great time!!!!

Re: Radisson Resort Parkway - Has anyone stayed here?

We stayed there about a year ago. Just for one night, but we were really impressed. Our room was just a standard view (a.k.a., pond, fountain, and parking lot), but it was large, beautifully decorated, clean, and very comfortable. We also got a great rate on Mousesavers. Book through their website, if you can -- very good rates most of the time.

The pool was fabulous. Truthfully, we thought it was much nicer than AKL's, which we found a bit boring. I think there are two spas, tho' we only hit one of them. It was clean and well-maintained, but too hot. I'm sure they've fixed that. Landscaping around the property is lovely.

Didn't eat in any of the restaurants so can't help you there. We had a car, so I don't know how good their shuttle service is, but it was very quick to drive to all the parks. About a mile west on 192 and you're on Disney property -- on exactly the same roads the Disney busses use to get to the parks.

There are also all kinds of restaurants/fast food joints, drug stores, and a very nice Publix close by on 192. And a lot of tacky souvenir stores, but that's 192.

I think it's an excellent alternative to staying on-site. We were very pleased with it. Can't say the same about other Radissons in the area, but this one is a winner. Enjoy your trip!

Hello and Thank-you for the responses!

Very glad to hear it is easy to get to WDW, we have a car (taking auto train down) but plan to utilize the shuttle, save on parking fees.

Looking forward to seeing it myself.

Re: Radisson Resort Parkway - Has anyone stayed here?

Absolutely go through the Mousesavers website. We got a great rate at the Radisson when Disney could only give us half the days we needed. The room had a pool view, even though we were paying a special low rate. Very comfortable. In-room coffee makers, toiletries, etc. Great pools and spas, lovely landscaping, close to WDW and grocery stores, restaurants, etc. They also have limited free bus transportation to WDW, Universal, etc.--tip for the driver appreciated.

In house food includes a snack bar with Pizza Hut pizza, a big hit with my son. We would definitely stay there again--even my picky husband who usually finds something to complain about liked it. (The $1.00 for a can of Coke in the soda machines really got to him. We just hit the grocery store up the road for sodas and the Dunkin' Donuts for large coffees.)

Re: Radisson Resort Parkway - Has anyone stayed here?

We just recently stayed 5 nights at the Radison Resort Parkway 7/18 - 7/23 and we thought it was great. The location is excellent, the furnishings are very nice, it's clean, very well maintained, and the pools are big and fun. We are 2 adults and 3 kids and I found the fantastic "Kids Spread Out Rates" (or something like that name...) on Mousesavers and had 2 rooms for an amazingly low total of under $100 / night!

We had stayed on site at the Poly in May (which was fabulous) and I do want to stay on site again when we return in about a year (you do miss certain things like the Mickey wake up call because it's just not the same with Mom and Dad doing the Mickey imitation!), but for this quick turn around return trip, we wanted a lower hotel rate, but still a nice resort. And since, unfortunately, the FTP did not work for us this time (we had leftover Park Hopper Days we wanted to use and could not spend 7 nights / 8 days this time, etc...) and I found this resort highly recommended on Mousesavers so we went for it. We have no regrets at all. (We were in building 6000 overlooking the quiet pool.)

Re: Radisson Resort Parkway - Has anyone stayed here?

Hi there!

Our family stayed at Raddison Resort Parkway for one night in May before we transferred to POR. We booked through Mousesavers...it's a great deal.
All in all, I would stay there again. The pool was a lot of fun, the breakfast buffet was very good, and the room that we ultimately ended up in was nice. We had a bumpy start when they put us in a room that reeked of smoke,(had requested NS) and then transferred us to a room with only one bed (4 of us!). It was late and we were cranky, but all is well that ends well.

Have Fun!

Jackie

Re: Radisson Resort Parkway - Has anyone stayed here?

We're going to stay here one night, upon our arrival in Orlando. It certainly sounds great, and the Mousesavers price sealed the deal. My DH wants to start the trip extra early that morning so that we'll have time for some swimming. (We check into AKL the next day and want to start using those ultimate parkhopper passes ASAP!) Good luck - I am hope that you'll be happy with your decision!!

Is there a resort fee here? Just trying to compare prices.

Re: Radisson Resort Parkway - Has anyone stayed here?

Hello

Thanks again to all who posted replies. It will be perfect for our stay. I booked online and was able to get the rooms for 69/night (5nights) and 79 for one night.

We are also staying at the Orando Radisson at the Gates of USF/IOA and joined their rewards program (lots of other hotels with the program in our usual travel locations)

So I will take full advantage of all points for loyalty. Plus with Disney not really offering codes we were able to extend our vacation out by 3d/2n and see another theme park without cutting into our WDW vacation.
