Can\'t decide: YC or BC?

Oh my gosh- way too much thinking about this!!! We have reservations at the YC 11/24-11/29. We have stayed at the BC before but never the YC. Now I am having second thoughts! Does anybody have any thoughts about the difference between the 2? I am thinking that the differences are mainly cosmetic, but not sure! THanks!!

Re: Can\'t decide: YC or BC?

Why are you having second thoughts? Our favorite is the Beach Club where we will be in November for part of our trip and then at the YC as we couldn't get it for the whole time.

I think I prefer the BC solely on decor. I love the whimsical theme compared to the YC's formal austerity. - Reminds me too much of my formative years in south(western) Connecticut I think. -

I figure a couple nights won't kill me and will satisfy DH's curiosity and he'll be closer to his beloved Yachtsman.

Re: Can\'t decide: YC or BC?

we stayed at the yc last year and loved it! it's slightly more formal than the bc, but i don't find it stuffy or uncomfortable. we chose yc over bc for 2 main reasons:
-the room decor of the yc is more to our liking. they were renovated right before our arrival last year, and they're much prettier than the old room pictures on the wdw site.
-the yc rooms all have full balconies. at the bc, some rooms have full balconies, some have standing room only balconies, and some have no balcony at all.
the differences between the 2 are definately cosmetic, and in my opinion minimal. they share transportation and the awesome stormalong bay. i would leave your ressies as is and enjoy!

Re: Can\'t decide: YC or BC?

We've only stayed at the BC, but we had friends who stayed at the YC in 2000 and from what we could see of their room, the only difference between the two was cosmetic. I think you'll have a great time, whichever part you stay in.

Re: Can\'t decide: YC or BC?

Hi,

The other comments are exactly the same as mine are about Yacht Club vs. Beach Club. Besides being right next to each other, the only real difference is the decor. The Beach Club is maybe a bit more informal because of the more casual decor, but kids in swimsuits are still welcome to patter through the lobby. But, it is Disney, and things are relaxed and casual because the point to is be happy and have fun! Don't have any regrets - just have fun.

Have a magical day!

Let us know what you decide, okay? I am curious- I am really excited to be headed to BCV in June- I have never been to either BC/YC.

Re: Can\'t decide: YC or BC?

What everyone said so far is right. It all comes down to your own personal tastes. I myself prefer the "richness" of the Yacht Club than the "whimsical" of the Beach Club. Some people like that and others dont. The good thing is it doesnt make much of a difference for location, they are right next to each other, just decor that's all! Dont worry, you made the right choice!

Re: Can\'t decide: YC or BC?

Well, we decided last night- we are staying at the YC! It's one of the few hotels we've never stayed at so it will be a little adventure!(aren't we daring?!!) To compound all this, last night friends of us tried to talk us into staying at The Swan as the rates are so good in November. It was tempting but the kids really love Stormalong Bay so to the YC we go!!(just made my CP ressies too, so am starting to get excited!!) Thanks everyone for all the input! Maybe we'll bump into you there depending on when in November you are going Susan.

Re: Can\'t decide: YC or BC?

We are also regular Y/C guests who opted to stay at the Swan this Decmber because of the much better rates. I LOVE Stormalong bay, but with Disney not releasing as many discount codes as in years past it just doesn't make sense to stay at the Y/C this year. With the swan u get a great rate and can use everything in the EPCOT resort area except Stormalong bay.
