How $$$ to tip mousekeeping?

So for a family of 5, how much should be tipped per day?

Thanks,

Re: How $$$ to tip mousekeeping?

That's how I normally tip too. If we make a real mess of the room because we stayed in to eat and the housekeeping is really good, we will tip more. But we usually start at 3 a day since there are three of us.

Re: How $$$ to tip mousekeeping?

Ditto, unless we stay in a suite where we mess up more space, then we tip $2 day/person

We also usually tip around $5/day - that's what I prestuff the envelopes with. If we're staying concierge - then I make 2 envelopes - one for the turn down service.

If there is something extra we've asked for - or if something really special has been done for us - then I up the tip.

Re: How $$$ to tip mousekeeping?

We do $5 a day and we put it in an envelope marked for "Mousekeeping". There are only 4 of us, but finding the $5 bill per day is easier than finding 4 - $1 bills everyday. We make our beds every morning and clean the room of clutter, so we don't make them work very hard. But they do a great job always and I have never been disappointed with the state of the room, when returning from a long day in the parks.

We are another $1per person/per day family unless they do something really special then we add a little extra. We also do the envelopes that I stuff and decorate before we leave for the trip.

Re: How $$$ to tip mousekeeping?

Another one who tip $1 per day/per person. And there are 4 of us in our family. Except when we get 2 adjoining rooms, then we tipped $3 per room/ per day. We always had the doors opened and taped the Mousekeeping envelopes to it.

Well, a big thanks to all of you for responding!! $5.00 a day it is. I really like doing the envelopes before leaving for the trip. Organization is key!

Re: How $$$ to tip mousekeeping?

We tipped $5/day for the four of us last June. The lady that cleaned our room most of our stay actually hugged me the day we were leaving. She was genuinely thankful for the tips. I got teary-eyed b/c something so small meant so much to her.
