Treehouse Villas... Not part of a resort now - but they once were! Has anyone stayed there? How were they? We were scheduled to stay at the Treehouse Villas and then they decided to close them. Lost opportunity. I always wanted to see them, but never had a chance. Until this past trip! A friend of a friend of a security guard arranged a drive through. It was so cool! DD and I drove around checking it all out. Interesting layout, but they sure are aged. Lots of problems that need to be fixed, but can't be. I love doing something out of the ordinary on our trips. This was a dream come true.

Re: Treehouse Villas... Yup, that's why it now has a fenced entrance. I never thought I'd get to see them when I heard they were switching over. But someone knew someone...who knew someone...who knew someone...LOL!

Re: Treehouse Villas... I stayed in the Treehouse Villas on my very first trip to WDW. They were very neat. Each Villa was a separate building if I'm not mistaken. I remember having to walk up steps to get into our villa, then there was a living room (sleeper sofa, chair, table and TV) and a kitchenette, and the second floor had a bedroom and bathroom.

Re: Treehouse Villas... We stayed there a bunch of times, several of them with groups that needed several Treehouses (they were great for group socializing). We loved them. They were fun, quirky, and a great value for the number of guests accommodated. The woodland views from the decks and picture windows were lovely. It sometimes seemed you were staying in Ewok Village. The downside was accessibility - stairs up to the entrance on the second floor, a narrow, cicular interior stairway downstairs to the third bedroom and laundry. While it had two baths, one was inside the master bedroom, and both were small. There also wasn't a lot of open floor space. There wasn't an indoor dining table for six, just a small table for four in the kitchen and some small tables outside on the decks. Altogether, while they had some limiations, their architecture and setting made them the most intriguing rooms on property for us. One of our earliest examples of cast member magic came when we had a group occupying four Treehouses. The group was coming back from one of the parks, and our driver, who called herself "The Goddess of Disney Transportation" and made any bus ride a hoot (we happened to ride with her several times during that one trip, and Jennifer and I subsequently struck-up a friendship with her) skipped the Treehouse Villas bus stop and took the bus through the curving, narrow woodland road right up to our Treehouses! We're surprised it fit. The electronic gate was always there. It's a substitute for a live security guard (which all the other resorts have).

Re: Treehouse Villas... We stayed there one weekend in 1999. It was nice..but not fantastic. I thought they were a little small for what we paid ($300 with a 50% off cast discount). Kelly

Re: Treehouse Villas... We floated past them on our way to Downtown Disney from POFQ and our boat Capt. said they were being used by overseas college students. A few of them were lit up and you could see inside them as we went by. They looked pretty cool.

Re: Treehouse Villas... We were told by our DVC driver that Disney was going to tear down the Tree Houses and redo them but had forgot that the land around the Tree Houses had been designated as protected Wet Lands so if they tore them down they would not be allowed to put anything back. So as of Nov 2005 they are being used as student housing for the foreign exchange students.

Re: Treehouse Villas... DH and I stayed at the Disney Village Resort for our honeymoon in 1994, but in a 1-bedroom "villa", not a treehouse.
