Downtown Disney Resorts/Hotels Who has stayed in one or more of the DTD Resorts/Hotels. What are the pros and cons. Which ones are Keepers? Which ones would you avoid?

Re: Downtown Disney Resorts/Hotels We stayed at Hotel Royal Plaza in May/June 2004. That was before the hurricane hit and they had to remodel, but when we stayed I thought it was wonderful. We had NO problems with DtD transportation AT ALL; we actually would have stayed there last summer but they were still closed due to the renovation.

Re: Downtown Disney Resorts/Hotels Hotel Royal for us too, stayed in 2003 for one night. We stayed in a tower room. It was comfortable (the cable was spotty though) and spacious. It also overlooked DTD and we could see both the MK and Epcot fireworks from our window. The kids loved the glass elevator and the pool area looked nice (though we had no chance to use it). We'd stay there again.

Re: Downtown Disney Resorts/Hotels I stayed at the Marriot World Center in Dec last year. It's *sort of* Downtown Disney. The view from the balcony was awesome. It's far enough that you look directly across to DTD, but can clearly see Epcot and MGM, Even Expedition Everest wayyyyyy over there and on the other side, Space Mountain and the Contemporary. Not even a tiny peek of the Castle, though. Anyway, that was the best part. It was clean, the room spacious and it had good lotion and shampoo but it was completely without magic, being off property and all. Unless it's free, I won't be staying there again.
