| Oh dear. This is not good. This is not good at all.... Do you guys remember my appliance woes? All my appliances have been crapping out, one by one in the past 6 months, except for the one that I want to die (the stove). We've been looking at laundry teams for a little over a month because we know that they are living on borrowed time right now. Well... I'm in big trouble tonight. We are leaving tomorrow for 3 weeks. I've been running around trying to do the laundry and make sure that everybody's rooms are cleaned up and there's not one dirty sock in the corner or anything. Well, after the 5th or 6th load of laundry today.... my dryer went on strike. It stopped in mid-dry apparently. I tried to restart it, but it's a no-go. [img]/ubb/images/graemlins/frown.gif[/img] So I have a dryer full of very damp clothes (although not sopping) and I have a washing machine full of clean wet clothes. I don't have a clothesline, and even if I did, it's almost night time and I think it wouldn't be a very successful time to dry those clothes. And, to top it all off, I don't even have a car tonight to run to the laundromat - Paige is out at a birthday party, and Dan & Drew are off to a soccer game! As Piglet would say, "Oh d-d-d-dear!" Is there anyway you can walk to a neighbors house and use their dryer to get your clothes done? I know I have a wonderful neighbor who wouldn't think twice about letting me finish my wash in her machine. |

My Dad set up a clothes line in the basement somehow and then she used every available space in the basement and living room to hang the clothes out to dry. Somehow it all got done and we went down the shore the next day as scheduled. My brother and sisters and I never even knew that there was a crisis we were all already asleep (we were really young) Mothers Rule!!! [img]/ubb/images/graemlins/smile.gif[/img] Good luck I hope you figure out a solution somehow and have fun on your trip!! |
