Stuffed Animals

I was wondering if anyone could tell me how I can get rid of all the stuffed animals that we have. Can you give your stuffed animals away or is it just best to throw them out? TIA.

Re: Stuffed Animals

We have an organization called Lovable Huggables here that takes donated stuffed animals, washes them, repairs & refurbishes them and brings them to the Children's Hospital here. I love knowing that they are going to bring some other child joy or comfort! (Hopefully both! ) You may want to call your local hospital's pediatric ward and see what the rules for donating are.

Re: Stuffed Animals

If they are in good condition, you can check with your local ambulance squad. We accept donations of clean stuffed animals and keep them on the trucks for our littlest patients.

Re: Stuffed Animals

Our church works with one of the nursing homes here and I have donated a lot of stuffed animals. They use them for prizes for the games they play once a month, when ladies from our church visit.

I have also donated some of the better looking ones to our Sherrif's Dept. They give them to children when they have to take them from a dangerous home, etc.

And I have sent some to Appalachia, the name of the program escapes me now. They like toys and stuffed animals in good shape to give to kids there for Christmas.

I have also given some to the Goodwill store and Habitat store here. they sell them to make money for their causes.

Hope this helps! In your area, I would call around to see if anyone could use them.

Like Sue said, I always take our down to the local Rescue/Fire Squad. They keep a closet full to help make their littest patients feel better.

Re: Stuffed Animals

Check with your school system. If they are clean and in good shape they are often used by the counselor and in classrooms....children love to read to them.
