Question Chrissi's SQOTD 8/31

It's almost September, which means autumn is nearly here!

What is your favorite autumn activity? If you live somewhere where the leaves don't change, do you do autumn-like activities?

I love everything about the autumn. But especially going to the pumpkin farm. They have wagon rides, hot apple cider, corn mazes, straw bale mazes for the kids, fun photo ops, and the most amazing farm stand. I buy a pie, pickled veggies, and a quiche every year. I can't help myself.

Coming in a very close second is HalloWeekends at Dorney Park. We always go for my birthday in late October. They have trick-or-treating and mask-making for kids, fun houses, haunted houses, haunted rides, Snoopy and the Peanuts Gang in costume, and the park is decked out from top to bottom for Halloween. Love it!

Those are great photos Chrissi!

I just love walking through piles of leaves in the autumn and when it starts to get really cold, getting the coal and wood out and having a real fire on in our living room.

What I love most about Autumn is the crisp feeling in the air. Here in Oklahoma the humid dies down a bit and the days feel so good. I also love the beautiful colors of our many trees
BUT
Most of all I love the fact that the noisy AC machine in my room at school can be turned off.

i don't know if it's an activity but, i love it when it's warm enough out to wear shorts, but it's cool enough you have to wear a sweatshirt. i don't know why. activity-wise, i like the local harvest festivals with the crafts and whatnot. i love fall.

Football games and tailgating.
Rich's Fright Farm closer to Halloween. It's in PA and is simply put, one of the best haunted houses EVER.

Football games rank right up there...high school or college to attend, and if I'm very, very lucky, one pro game a year (Carolina Panthers). Love it.

Our State Fair is in October, so that's another thing. I love getting hot chocolate and walking through the fair at night.

I also love going to the mountains. We live about 2.5 hours from the Appalachian Mountains in NC, so we try and go up there for one weekend each fall to drive the Blue Ridge Parkway - it's so beautiful with the leaves changing! We usually go to Blowing Rock, NC, which is the cutest little mountain town and has some great shops and restaurants. This year we might go to Asheville instead; my mother really wants to do the Biltmore Estate while the leaves are pretty.

Late September and October are our busiest months family wise. We go to two or three different pumpkins patches. We go on hay rides. Grant's Farm here has a late evening haunted animal ride, this is our new thing to go to. We go for a long ride through the country to look at trees and go to some of the wineries for Octoberfest. We go mainly for the food and craft shopping, we rarely buy any wine. We are usually getting the house ready for Halloween also.

This is our favorite time of year! That's why we went to WDW last year when we did so we could go to MNSSHP. Which was one of the highlights of our trip. I've tried to talk DW into going to the Christmas party. She said she wants to go back for Halloween again. I say as long as we get to go!

Great photos... what a neat place that is! We had just moved to OR, so didn't do much last year. This year I think we'll try to find something fun to do... won't go to "Little People Big World"'s farm, tho... too commercial for me.
