| Early to bed.......... well it's always early to rise for me. I work 7-3 and awaken at 4:00-4:15 every morning. For the last week or so I just can't seem to get enough sleep. The bummer is this is my favorite time of the year with it being Halloween and all. I love to stay up late and watch scary movies and real hauntings and ghost stories on tv. So tonight I will give up the ghost, so to speak, and go to bed at 8:00pm. Do any of the rest of you have problems with your yearning to do something and the knowing you need your rest?

| You're on the same work schedule as my DH - and same sleep/wake schedule, too! He has a hard time whenever we want to watch a movie - by the time I'm finished with dinner/clean-up/kid's baths/dog walk, etc. it's 8:00pm - and he knows he has to go to bed in an hour's time.

| Another early riser here - I need to be at work by 7ish to do bus duty. When John works days - he leaves at 5 am - but other than that, he's a major night owl. When I go lay down around 10, he is just getting started on his TV time. Then he complains that I go to bed too early - but I get up between 3 and 4 most mornings.

| Yes! All the time. I love staying up late and watching the late shows --- it's my favorite time to piddle on the Internet, too. But I need to be in the bed by 10:30 because I have to get up early for work. During college, I'd always stay up til at least 1:00, even when I had 8:00 classes, because I knew I could nap later in the morning or afternoon. No naps now, so I have to get my beauty rest. It really irritates me!

| Ugh, I feel your pain. I've NEVER been a morning person whatsoever. I think that some people are just born with internal clocks that are set for certain times to function well. For me, my internal clock wakes me around midnight and sends me to bed around 8 am. Unfortunately, the working world doesn't work like that, and I'm stuck trying to sleep at 11 pm every night so I can get up at 6 and not be a total zombie.

| I have a problem with getting enough sleep and wanting to read. I love to read so much, it's hard to put down that book and go to sleep.

| I love to stay up late and then sleep in late the next morning! Fortunately I now have the perfect job which allows me to be in sync with my internal body clock. I only work part-time, and the days when I do work I don't have to be there until either 11am or 3pm! ![]()

| No problems here, although I used to have similar problems when I worked the breakfast shift in radio - then I'd get up at around 4.00 every morning and usually be in work by 5.20. ![]()

| This is when working graveyards has it's advantages. I'm a night owl and love working nights. Try to get me up at 5AM and you've got a pistol on your hands! You DON'T want to see me!! On my days off I'll stay up till 3 or 4, sleep until about noon or so, and enjoy the day. I could never make it in corporate America working Monday thru Friday, dayshift. Just isn't in my blood-I've tried it and I'm miserable at it!! Give me my graveyards!! |
