This wasn't by accident, but we had a great view from my DH's office building downtown. We sat out on the deck on the 27th floor and had a spectacular view - not only of the rockets, but the ground displays, too.

I slept through them this year, but last year I happened to be having dinner at a friend's house on the outskirts of Phoenix. As I was driving back into town, I could see firworks going off in 6 different places all around the valley. It was really spectacular!

Sounds cool, Sandy! We were going to see the ones in DT last night, but I wasn't feeling very well so we opted to stay home. From our spare bedroom upstairs we did see some cool fireworks-maybe a neighborhood group shooting them off.

Last year however I got to see fireworks from a cool perspective. I was flying home from Phoenix on July 4, and my plane landed just a little after 10. As I was flying over SW Minnesota and the western metro, I got to see EVERYONE'S fireworks from a bird's eye view. I had been disappointed that I was going to miss fireworks, but I got to see the best show ever!

Nope, just the ones on tv. Which I only saw a little bit of when I switched over to it here and there. I get too annoyed with them on tv. Not only do they not seem so colorful, but they keep showing the spectators which drives me batty. I want to see the fireworks, not the people at the esplanade watching

Sounds great!
We live where the trees are too tall, plus we are out in the middle of the country.
So the only thing I saw was my neighbor shooting off terribly loud fireworks....all noise, no fun glitter! I ended up shutting up my house and turning on the air, just so I could go to sleep - as they were shooting them off until after midnight!

We live near a minor league baseball field and get fireworks often, but the leaves kind of skew our view. Yours sounds great!

My daughter and I went to see the fireworks downtown standing on the stone arch bridge. -great spot to view fireworks. Afterwords from the 8th floor of the parking ramp we could see various sets of fireworks in all directions. At home, we couldn't see any because the trees are all too tall.

Long before 9/11, I took my sister to the top of the Empire State Building at dusk on the 5th of July. NO ONE WAS THERE! It was a clear night and you could fireworks for miles out in every direction you looked. Sure, it was windy and chilly, but we were the only people up there and what a view!!! We were just trying to squeeze it in before she left, so it wasn't an intentional visit.

Also, on our wedding day, the reception hall on top of a hill that overlooks NYC and we didn't know it but we had a lovely surprise that night of fireworks.

nice job!! We had to drive and sit on a blanket to see the local fireworks, but they were centennial fireworks and seriously kicked booty! Kylor even said "Wow, those were even better than fireworks at Disney World!"

We saw three sets at one time. We were in Fenwick Island, Delaware at my cousin Patty's surprise party, and their house over looks the bay side of Ocean City, MD. They had them in three parts of town. Way cool. They had to do them early as a storm came in and poured right after they were over. And then nature's fireworks took over!

We had a great view of mulitple fireworks display from the ferry boat in the middle of Puget Sound. Although we planned it that way. We purposely waited for the 9:55 pm boat so we could watch from that vantage point without all the noise!
