Exclamation What's up in Atlanta with gas???

My parents and 20yo DD are driving to move DD to Orlando this weekend. They just called from Atlanta...the QT was completely sold out of gas as were 2 other stations they went to! It took them 4 stations and an hour to fill up... My Dad said it would only pump about 2 gallons a minute when they finally found a place with gas.

Anyone know what's up or is it just holiday weekend stuff???

Ouch! The only time we ever ran into something like that it was near the coast and just a couple of weeks after a hurricane had come through! Hope they don't have any more trouble.

It must have been a problem with getting a fuel tanker to that area during the holiday weekend. Glad they were able to get gas somewhere.

Hmmm....usually when something like this happens I get an email about it, but haven't heard a peep (then again, this holiday weekend has been DEAD so that might have something to do with it....)

I live in the Atlanta area and can tell you your family must have came thru on friday or sat. On Wed gas went down about ten cents a gallon. I guess in anticipation of the holiday. On Thurs most gas station had a line to get gas because people travel or just to get in on the gas prices. BTW if you do not know in the ATL QT usually have the cheapest gas around. By Thurs night and friday gas was gone and so was the people. NO CRAZY RUSH HOUR TRAFFIC. Which was great! Gas truck finally came by the QT near my house on Sat morning. Of course everyone was off Friday. I finally got gas Sat afternoon. Gas to go b ack up Monday according to the QT rep.
