| Oops! Spoke to soon, Murphy's Law prevails again! My house is exactly 8 miles due west of Flagler Beach. I'm now under a HURRICANE WATCH! TS Fay is suppose to exit into the Atlantic now and hit somewhere between Flagler Beach and Altmaha, GA as Hurricane Fay Cat 1. I guess it's going to be a dark stormy night after all ![]() Sorry if it looks like I have a really warped sense of humor, but I do. I've been working Emergency Management for so many years now I really think that I've just gotten completely desensitized to most incidents. I probably need to see a shrink or find a new line of work.

| Its not over yet - those of us in N. Florida are likely to get intimately familiar with HURRICANE FAY tomorrow afternoon/evening.

| Folks that live in hurricane areas get used to things like this......and sometimes we let our guards down. We went through Rita.....Humberto....and countless TS's. You have to get ready for every one......you never know when the power will go.....when the water will rise....or when the wind will blow things around. Folks here prepared for Eduouard like it was a cat 3....but after Humberto we are all a bit jumpy here. Thankfully it was nothing...but it could have easily been much much worse. You HAVE to prepare....no matter what level of storm it is. I dont think folks taking care of their families and \or property is assinine in any fashion.....worst care you are stocked up on water and batteries for a while.... and you had a little piece of mind going into the storm. Sure its an inconvienience at Walmart of the grocery.... but oh well....its worth having a little patience to know that folks are doing things for the right reasons. Sorry if this sounds a little snippy....but having been without power ...water....etc etc.... it bothers me when folks blow this stuff off....you just cant....

| course since you all don't know what i mean by assanine, you would accuse me of such things as being snippy, etc, or complacent. part of posting things on the internet. preparing isn't assanine...running red lights, screaming and yelling at clerks, freaking out for no reason before anything happens, now that is assanine. since none of you bothered to ask exactly what i meant by assanine, it is amazing how you will all jump me...... |

| I've been thinking of all the Floridian PP'ers and vacationers this week. that Fay stays as mild as she has been and that everyone in her path stays safe.

| Sounds like good news to me! We've been through similar. You get all ready for the worst.....and then nothing. I'd much rather have the nothing.....

| Sorry the storm is a let down for you, but my niece, a freshman at Florida Tech in Melbourne, is confined to her dorm for her safety. The first floor of her dorm (the lounge and laundry rooms) are under water. They've had 12 inches of rain with no end in sight . . .

Unfortunately, Fay is once again stalling and gaining fire power. It is suppose to landfall at my house tomorrow morning at around 8 am. Hopefully it will pick up speed!!! 0 - 5 mph is just killing us. Fortunatey, my office is closed tomorrow. I really didn't want to drive 30 miles to my office, not that I honestly thought that I could as most of the roads will flood. ![]() ![]() to those in Brevard County. Last offical report I saw at 3 pm had 5500 without power, 8000 homes are flooded. For those wanting more, check Orlando News, Central Florida News, Daytona Beach News, Melbourne News, Weather, Traffic, Sports or Orlando News, Daytona Beach, Central Florida News, Weather & Sports - WESH Orlando's Channel 2 Both are local TV stations. But the good news - Lines at WDW are very low, our fellow passporters there should be having a blast!
