Wish me luck!
I bought DD's Alice in Wonderland costume for the MNSSHP and Halloween, but DS wants to be Pluto so I making his costume myself. I don't think it will be too difficult, but you never know! I started it last night and promise to post pictures as soon as it is complete!

you'll do fine. I adapted patterns when my kids were younger and made Arthur and DW, Madeline, and Franklin the Turtle!

When my boys were small I made their Halloween costumes every year.
One year I made a frog, a monkey and a lion. I actually have that year's picture framed and it sits on my desk! Good times!!!!!!!!
with the Pluto costume!

You're on the right track starting early.
When my kids were young, my DM made their costumes. Then, I started making them for my nephew and my girlfriend's son (they're the same age and usually wanted the same costume). My sister saved them all - some of them were adorable.

Thank you! I just might take you up on that! I only sew twice a year - Halloween and usually one home project in the spring. I'm good with the machine, but not so good with the hand stitching. I can never remember how to slip-stitch for some reason, which is frustrating when I make pillows in the spring. Happens every spring, too. It's like spelling certain words: some you just can't remember no matter how hard you try! Either that or the slip-stitch is just stoopid!

THANKS for all the good wishes to all my friends! I can't wait to get started!!!
