| Lake living... Just wondering if any of you live on a lake? Right now we have a house and 23 acres that is about to be paid off. DH says the 23 acres doesn't hold as much appeal as it used too. We don't really care about raising cows or anything like that anymore. We have however bought a boat recently, and we are really enjoying going to the lake and relaxing and fishing. My question is how do you like living on the lake? We've been looking at lake lots but it's a pretty scary decission. I just assumed we'd always live here. Don't get me wrong I'd love to get the chance to get things right on building another house! We might even be able to break even with the sale of our house and land and building another on the lake lot. Any thoughts? This is something really new to us, never even thought of it before now. Thanks for letting me talk this out! |

| Re: Lake living... I don't live on a lake but my parents live on Lake Austin in Austin AND have a lake house on Lake LBJ at Horseshoe Bay. We all LOVE the lake and spend as much time there during the summer as possible. Its great to just walk down to the dock and jump in the boat or on the jet skis! No more pulling the boat on a trailer and waiting to put it in and take it out of the water!
There's nothing better than sitting on the dock early in the morning with a cup of coffee listening to the water and enjoying the scenery!
Which lake are you thinking about living on?

| Re: Lake living... Terri.....as I'm a morning coffee drinker, that sounds wonderful! I'm hoping for a big patio on the back of the house to sit and relax! I'm talking like this is really going to happen....it'll probably fall through, but who knows?!?
It's Richland Chambers Lake around the Corsicana area (50 or so miles So. of Dallas) [ 06-02-2002, 05:06 PM: Message edited by: SMG ] |

| Re: Lake living... It sounds wonderful to me! My wife's family on both sides had summer homes on lakes in New Hampshire and at the Cape. Nothing beats waking up to water outside of your bedroom window each morning! Good luck in your decision! |

| Re: Lake living... Dadtojbj...What lake on the Cape? I live on Lake Wequaquet in Centerville..Nice to hear the birds, ducks and now the jet ski's in the summer...I really live one street away, but the 5 houses on my street, have our own private beach..
beach rights I guess you'd call it..it came with the house! Love going to the ocean, but the lake is nice in June & September or whenever the beaches are crowded. |

| Re: Lake living... Shonnie-
Happy Birthday!!!
Maybe your DH is wrapping up a deal with a land lover to buy your 23 acres so you can be on your way to the lake - now that would be a great birthday surprise!
Keep us posted!

| Re: Lake living... No such luck there! We are still really thinking on this lake deal. We are having a contractor come and look at the lot for us to see what he thinks about a few things that concern us. So....who knows!?! |
