Yes, the "short" list almost outnumbered the "long" list last year, so it didn't make much sense to do both, and I anticipated fewer participants this year.

Believe it or not, it's the postage that's the killer expense. Christmas cards are the cheap part. Last year, I got a bunch at Walgreens on sale (buy 1 get 1 free I believe) and this year in Maine, I got a whole bunch of Disney themed Christmas cards for$1 a box at Dollar Tree.

Hey guys, DS#1 wants to know if he can join the list NEXT year and send cards to you guys from his deployment somewhere in the mountains of Afghanistan. I figured because they military mail won't be much diff than regular mail (just slower) you all wouldn't mind. Anyone got a problem with getting their card a little late if need be?

its sweet he wants to participate im sure no one will have a problem if his card(or any card) is late i think everyone understands life sometimes gets in the way of doing things like this

I think this is a great idea and think about his end with all the cards arriving from all over! It would brighten his holidays and prolly the entire unit!

I surely don't mind the lateness, I would be honored!

With there only being one list, I don't think I'll be taking part this year. I've usually done shorter lists in recent years, so my apologies to everyone. I'll still be thinking of you all, as we enjoy our Christmas at WDW!

You can always make them postcards. I do this with another group that I am in because that list is over 200 most years. I like the postcards because you get the Christmas wish with a cute photo they put on it, you dont have to waste an envelope and also it is less to mail them. So everyone is happy!

I think that would be an honor for anyone that joins next year. To send him a card when he is so far away from home is a great way to say thank you for giving so much of himself and not asking alot in return.

wHOOOOOOOhOOOOOOO. We have a REALLY small family and most are elderly and dont send cards due to fixed income, most of my friends, we just do a general phone call as we talk to each other all the time....But getting those cards last year was WONDERFUL...cards from everywhere even overseas. Even our mailman commented on it, said it was more fun bringing my mail than anyone elses!!
