| H1N1 shot... Has anyone else gotten it? I was really on the fence and they closed all the clinics here (Calgary, AB) save for one for all of the health care workers and staff ( I work for a surgeon and im in and out of the hospital and seeing patients all the time)...anyway so this morning I decided to "put on my big girl shoes" (as my boss so kindly put it) and went and got my shot. *NOTE: I am PETRIFIED of needles * But now im wondering now if I have done the right thing...I will be traveling a lot in the next few months...moving across Canada and going to Disney in January so I dont want to be sick or make others sick but it just makes you wonder..I mean there hasn't really been a lot of research etc into the long term effects...just wondering what everyone's opinion is on this.... so if anyone sees me walking around Disney in January with a third eye and one arm it's just me from the vaccine!! LOL |

| I made an appointment for my kids for the flu vaccine/shot for mid-November - when I made that appointment, the office wasn't sure if the H1N1 would be in yet. I will probably get both if they have it.

| Can't get the H1N1 around here unless you're in the targeted group right now (pregnant, under 5, caregiver to infants, etc.) And the clinics that they do have fill up in ah hour!

| I had every intention of getting DS the H1N1 shot - however, everytime I schedule it or plan to have him get it at school - THEY RUN OUT OF THE DARN SERUM!!!! Then you see all the commercials saying GET THE SHOT-GET THE SHOT-GET THE SHOT.......HELLO how can we if there isn't enough to go around?!?!?!?!?!?!?! Okay - rant over. Now I'm just crossing fingers hoping none of us get sick!!!

| It's not even an option for us over here yet - health care front line workers, over 65s and those with compromised immune systems and those who live with those with compromised immune systems and that's it. It's not available any wider than that at the moment. I would get it if I could, as I've been told, if I get it, with chronic fatigue, it could wipe me out for weeks...

| I'm on the list to get one if the doctor's office ever gets any in. I've already been exposed to it (someone on our floor at work has already had it) though so I may offer to not get one.

| My Dr and I discussed it and he said that everybody needs to get the H1N1 shot. He said there's no greater risk with it than with the seasonal flu shot in Canada. So per his advice as soon as it's available to the low-riskers, I'll be off to one of the H1N1 Flu Clinics.

| My physician can't get the vaccine yet. Supplies are still low in California?

| My 3 year old gets it this Friday. I will be getting it as soon as my obstetricians office gets it which they believe is in the next 2 weeks. Our reg primary care won't have it so I just need to find a place for hubby to get his.

| In GA it is only offered to ages 2-24, pregnant women, health care workers, or people with health problems. I don't qualify under any of those, but plan to get it once it opens to everyone. However, I did get it for all 5 of my kids. They got the H1N1 nasal mist. The 3 younger ones will go in for a second does next month (if they have it). I originally had NO intentions of getting it for my kids; but three of my direct neigbors have had it, my sons bff, and several other aquaintences- It's very rampant here, so I decided to go ahead and get it. I pray it works!

| dd & I have appts for this afternoon for the regular flu shot, and dd's school is going to be giving out the H1N1 vaccine in the next month or so. I just sent in the permission slip for her to get the shot not the live nasal vaccine (she can't get that since she has asthma). |

| My Midwife has told me I should have it, she said my GP surgery will give me a call when they have the vaccine in stock. I don't know whether to have it as I had suspected swine flu earlier this year and was prescribed Tamiflu, they were no longer testing for it at the time so I can't be 100% sure. |
