Re: Motel/ Hotel SC. GA Line We just did this! There are TONS of places in Savannah, GA which is basically right over the GA/SC border. This is a great stopping place from VA - about 7-8 hours from Richmond to give you perspective. Now, we stayed at a Fairfield Inn by Marriott here. I'm pretty picky (my wife will tell you VERY picky) about where I stay and was very pleased! Got one of Mariott's get up and go rates - $58 for one night! The hotel had an interior corridor, a free breakfast and an indoor pool. And the best thing was that a Perkins was right across the street (loved it as a kid and it's still good!). Check out this link that Janet44 sent to me for lots of listings - and then what I did was go to the actual website of the hotel and found better rates. If you have AAA mention it. http://www.usastar.com/i95/homepage.htm GOOD LUCK!! P.S. Here is the direct link to the Fairfield we stayed at in Savannah... http://fairfieldinn.com/dpp/PropertyPage.asp?Mars haCode=SAVAB&checked=True&Marriott_BD={3C041534-3D22-48A2-9ACE-B1E7835A9897} [ 07-11-2002, 03:34 PM: Message edited by: Dadtojbj ]

Re: Motel/ Hotel SC. GA Line We also stayed in Savannah (Exit 94) on our way last month. We stayed at a Country Inn & Suites which (a big deal for my DD's) had a Cracker Barrel right in front of it. There are a lot of nice, new chains right off that exit.

Re: Motel/ Hotel SC. GA Line You know, if you wanted to stop a little earlier, you could always stay at South of the Border on the NC/SC state line. LOL! That place cracks me up everytime we have to drive I-95 on the way to my in-laws!

Re: Motel/ Hotel SC. GA Line Thanks Yall, Steve if you say that it is a nice place then I will stay there. The price looks good too. I cannot see paying 75 or more for just a few hours. Thanks for the I95 site. I had it once then lost it. Love that we can check on the road construction. I did read your report and wow, like I asked how much do you will you charge to do mine when I go in Sept? lol RobbiD, i am glad that you told me there is a Country Inn & Suites, my DD works for one! We have to go on I81 to I77 then get on I95 so we get to miss that South of the "Old Board" place. Lucky us! Angela Angela
