| UPDATE-Hard Rock Cafe This past July while in Orlando, we decided to go to HRC. We drive over to Universal, go through the lovely ordeal of parking and fighting the crowds to go to HRC. We get there and outside the restaurant are stars...not reals ones, but dressed-up Carey Grant, Marilyn Monroe, Cher, Elvis and the list could go on and on. We wandered, "what's up?". It was a private party and HRC was closed. Just our luck!
Well guess what happened AGAIN last night?! DD is in town from college and we have a new HRC. We decided to go for dinner last night. We drive to downtown Pittsburgh, fight the rush hour traffic, park in a paid parking lot (no free parking offered), and walk up to HRC. One of the workers was putting out the red carpet...but not for us . It was closed for a private party!
DH says he's never going back to HRC again.

| Re: UPDATE-Hard Rock Cafe What a pain! I don't know why they do that (It's gotta be the money) but if they knew how many guests they make angry and don't come back they might change their tune. I'd sure call ahead next time before going. |

| Re: UPDATE-Hard Rock Cafe If they are going to have private parties, they should do it after hours! The everyday people who visit their restaurants on a regular basis are the ones who keep them in business, not the wealthy people who rent the place out now and again! You should e-mail HRC to complain! |

| Re: UPDATE-Hard Rock Cafe What is funny about this...I was on their website before leaving the office, to be sure of hours of operation. After this happened, I said to DH...why don't they list private party dates on the website?
So I decided to e-mail them with that request. I doubt they'll listen, but atleast I got it off my chest.
I am sure private parties are a life-line for their financial stability, but with the technological age we live in, a little information to the general public would save a lot of bad feelings.
It did make us wonder if it was the Steelers who were having a private party, though! |

| Re: UPDATE-Hard Rock Cafe DH still insists he's not going back to HRC!
We finally made it to Pittsburgh's HRC tonight. There are 5 of us, they try and seat us at a table of four...didn't work! They moved us, willingly, which was nice.
Everything was great at that point. We ordered drinks, decided on meals (it was a really nice menu) and started looking around the cafe.
The food came and we start eating. All of a sudden a loud CRASH! To our left a man had a beer. He dropped it. The glass went flying...in DS#2's ear, all over our table and food!
We call the waitress over and tell her we couldn't eat the food because glass was in it. She looked at us like, "duh, why not?" She said "I don't understand" . I'm ready to knock on her brain, glass--eating--not good, okay? I told her it was not healthy to eat glass. She said she'd tell the manager. He came over and had no problem and replaced our meals. He even offered dessert free. DS#2 took him up on it--I guess that was fair since he was the one wounded!
I don't know if we'll ever have an uneventful visit to HRC! |

| Re: UPDATE-Hard Rock Cafe YIKES!!!
If I were you I think I'd be avoiding HRC's in the future. Hope everyone is OK.
Sorry to hear about your run of bad luck with the HRC. |

| Re: UPDATE-Hard Rock Cafe Some people just don't know how to operate their brains, do they? I'd ask her if she wanted to eat food with broken glass?
I think they should have given you your meals for free! Sorry you had such a bad experience! |

He had some blood, but not too major.
DS#1 watch glass fly into DD's chicken and caught DD right before she put a piece (with glass on it) in her mouth.
It all happened so quickly. I'm just glad the kids weren't hurt seriously. |
