I rarely ever gamble and the times I do, I shake my head and wonder why because I never win. I spent $5 on tickets for tonight's numbers and while I'm really, really hoping to win something, I know I'm not going to - I never do (I bought lottery tickets for others at Christmas and only 1 person got a $2 prize that's how bad my luck is, I can't even give away winners). So have you guys bought yours?


ETA - obviously those not in MA can answer too. It was only after I posted that I thought those just across the border from MA are probably playing too.

We have Mega Millions in WA too (it's in 42 states, Wash D.C. and the USVI too!) but didn't buy tickets as DH is one of those "Don't waste our money because we're not going to win anyway." types.

We have several friends who did, though! My parents got theirs as well so I hope they will share if they win!

My theory is the person who wins probably says the same thing lol. I did buy mine, I actually bought 10. I normally only buy them every now and then.

We have the same Mega Millions here in California... I have my ticket. I don't usually play the lotto, but with the amount as high... I bought a dollar ticket...lol big spender.,

We have it here in NH, too. I bought two tickets. I would love to win, but I'm too cheap to buy more than two tickets! I'm sure someone will win. Good luck everyone!!

Mega Millions is sold in a lot of states, not just Massachusetts. We went a little crazy, and bought fifteen tickets tonight, in Connecticut.

Cash option .... four hindred and sixty-two million dollars. O_O

If I win all of it? $20M to the ASPCA, $20M to the Make-a-Wish foundation, and $20M to a no-kill cat shelter in New England called "Kitty Angels". After those, and 40% taxes, my cash option would still come to just over $240M.

And if I do win, expect me to be talking to the Marxes about starting up a contest here, with Disney vacations as the prizes. All-expenses-paid-plus-pocket-money vacations, no less.

The idea I have for that is truly awesome: an essay contest, where each entrant tells about someone OTHER than them or their own family, who is especially deserving of a Disney vacation but can't afford one on their own. Best 2 or 3 essays win a trip for themselves and whoever they wrote about. And I'd run that same contest pretty much annually, or maybe biennially; I'd buy a DVC contract specifically for the contest, to provide the accommodations "in style".

Yeah, that's how rare I buy tickets. I thought it was a MA only game until I saw something on the tv about it. Oops .
