I'm surprising my son Ricky to a Dolphin swim at Discovery Cove for our September trip. It includes tickets to either Sea World, water park, that is out, Bush Gardens. We haven't to either in years. I picked BG, but now I'm rethinking which to do.. We don't have money to purchase the one we don't want. What to do is the question. Not doing Roller coasters right now still recovering from back surgery. Also son has seizures
so I wont let him do coasters by himself
Thanks for any input
I know a lot of people think the main part of BG is roller coasters, but there is SO much more to do there. I prefer BG over SW even without the roller coasters. The animal areas are great, and I just think the theming throughout the park is really wonderful (not quite Disney, but wonderful none the less).
I really prefer Sea World over BG. The last time we went(about 7 years ago) we hardly saw any animals and most of those were not close up. But I'm one who liked the monorail through the park where you saw the animals better.
Which does your son like better? Sea life or land animals? While Abby likes AK and we spend all day there, there is something about sea life that she really loves and she'll stop and watch for hours. Next time we go to Disney, we're planning on doing 2 days at Sea World because for us, there was just too much to see and do to get it done in one day. And just to add, we didn't do the coasters at SW, we had no interest in them and just kept walking by.

Ive been to both and prefer Sea World. Didn't find a heck of a lot to do at Busch Gardens. Just wasn't for us. Lots to do at Sea World. Good luck in deciding.
If you're also going to AK, I'd pick Sea World. Easy pace, shows are decent, and you get to see quite a bit. BG is, to me, an over-rated AK. And I'm not a fan of AK, so that should tell you a lot.
thanks everyone, I called today & changed it to SW. Hubby didn't want to drive back to Disney Resort. Also son said he thinks he will like SW. He has never been to either. When I told him SW had dolphins he said SW.

I don't think you'll regret it. If you get there early enough in the morning, you might be able to feed the dolphins as well. I'm not 100% positive how it works but I think you pay for the food and get a time to go back and feed the dolphins and I believe (but again, not sure) they take pictures of you doing it too. I know by the time we got to the dolphin tank, there were no more feedings for the day and there was a booth (with nobody in it at that time) that said something like "pick up your pictures here".

That is kind of cool I had no idea that they did that. I am definitely going to have to check into that on our next trip. Thanks
