| Shrinking clothes - on purpose Ok, so I got a real good deal at a yard sale on a suit jacket I wanted for a movie I'm shooting in September, but it's a size 46, and I need to shrink it down in the wash as small as I can get it. Ideally I wanted like a 42-44 but that's a pretty big difference. Anyone a pro at shrinking clothes (that will admit it), how should I go about making it shrink big-time? |

| Re: Shrinking clothes - on purpose Have Mr. Beaner do your laundry. He can shrink anything.
Seriously, if it's at least 50% cotton, wash it on the hottest setting possible then dry it on the hottest setting, but don't use fabric softener. It relaxes the fabric too much and will keep it from shrinking the way you want it to. DH and I purposely shrink the tie-dyes we do so our customers will get a true fit when they try one on. We know our shrinkage. |
