Hippopotamus - I fell in love with them when my DD's Girl Scout troop did Bunk with the Beasts. When we toured the zoo after closing the Hippo's were in their pool inside and the care taker was there. He was slicing apples in half and tossing them to the Hippo's. They would swim around and then come up in front of someone waiting for an apple and they would open their mouths up all the way and wait for the apple to be tossed in. They made me think of a dog and a bird at the same time. Now they are my absolute favorite. Although I like most of the African animals.
I'm a HUGE gorilla fan. I cannot get enough of them when we go to zoos or Animal Kingdom. They are one of my favorite things to take photos of. Here is one i captured at WDW in Jan 2011.
I love Monkeys of all varieties. My most favorite is actually a Whale but I think you meant land animal. SO Monkeys it is.
