If you live in a state or near a state that sells POWERBALL lottery tickets you might want to get some before this coming Wednesday. The jackpot is up to 425 million dollars.
I have to drive to the state right next to me to get tickets but it is only about 10 miles.
What would you do with 425 Million dollars?

We have state income tax here in Mississippi so I would have to pay 25% federal income tax and 6% state income tax on it. But that would leave 275 million dollars paid out over 30 years. A little over 9 million a year. THAT IS if you were the only one to hit it. Usually with a giant jackpot so many ppl play it that several ppl hit it and have to split it.
But having to split it wouldn't hurt my feelings I would be rich either way.
I can't even imagine having that kind of money.
I also would do a lot of traveling. Constant traveling.
I would help everyone I know get out of debt, have a nice home and nice cars and take them on trips with me.
I don't have a big family so it wouldn't take much for me to help everybody out.
I only have one BFF and I would hook her up pretty nicely in a bigger, nicer home. Although I don't think she would do the same for me if she won. She is very tight with her money and I don't see her being very generous if she won. I hate to say that but it is true.
But that wouldn't affect whether or not I would help her.

What a great Christmas present that would be! First, I'd pay off all my debt. Then, I'd turn the heat up to 68 degrees instead of 62. I'd put aside some money for college tuition for my kids, maybe buy a different house, or build a new one on the land we have, let my DH buy a new car, plan a trip to WDW, and invest whatever might be left. I always thought it might be fun to have a bunch of $100 bills and hand them out to random people for no particular reason just to see their reaction, maybe I could do a little of that. And, there are so many good causes out there that could use a little cash I'm sure I could do some good with that windfall.
Rats! That means we didn't win on the ticket we bought yesterday. Oh, well...
We'd buy a house in Scottsdale, AZ for the winter and one in Santa Fe, NM for a summer home--the former to suit DH who loves Phoenix and the other one for me.
Outside of that, we've talked about going to a Major League Baseball game in every park in the U.S. just so we could say we'd done that.
Oh, and we'd stay in the priciest suite at the GF every time we went to WDW and eat at Victoria and Albert's as often as we liked.

Counting down to Disney holiday season magic, the very best kind!
Simple:
Pay off my debt
Buy DVC points, tons of them!
remodel our house - we love the neighborhood, but the house is older and has some issues. I'd add a master suite over the garage, take the 3 rooms and 1.75 bathroom we already have and make 2 rooms with baths. make the kitchen larger and completely re-do it. I'd also take down about 30 trees in our backyard (Ash) and replace them with about 15 Maple or Oak.
Buy the vehicle I want, and buy a new truck for DH.
Take a LONG tour of Europe. Then, I'd take a tour of all Disney Parks, with a stop in Australia and New Zealand.
Make sure there was plenty of money for the girls to complete at least master's degrees.
I'd also donate a lot of $$ to my old high school - an inner city, public high school in a struggling, formerly good school system. I'd probably also offer a few college scholarships to students. There would be requirements, but nothing outrageous. None of those requirements to donate X number of hours to something or writing an essay. I think a personal interview and talking to teachers would be the best way to decide.
Oh - and we MIGHT enter the 2010s and get iPhones for all of us!
Omg, that kind of money is scary! I know that the Church would get 10%. Then DH and I would finish renovating our 150+ year old house and SELL it and have a new home built just the way we want it. What a dream! DH would probably retire. He's 57 with 30 years in right now so he could retire already but his retirement really isn't enough to live on at this point. I'm sure we would travel. Maybe buy a second home in the Caribbean so he could go Scuba diving whenever he wanted to. We would pay off DS's mortgage and buy then a new home also and new cars. Make sure our parents are taken care of and give some money to our siblings and bank the rest.

Wow! That is crazy!
First thing I would want to do is to give my church in Indiana a large donation.
I would then love to give a large donation to a number of charities and orphanages.
Next, I would buy each one of my sons their own home and a new vehicle.
Set up college funds for each son's family for their children.
Purchase a home in Golden Colorado and a home in Naples Florida.
Purchase a new vehicle and more DVC points.
Travel!
pay off the bills , make sure the nieces and nephews had money for college if they want to go, donate to Special olympics and veteran's hospitals. Buy the neighbors a new house next to ours somewhere warm
