Do you put up a real Christmas tree or do you put up an artificial Christmas tree?
If you put up a real tree, do you cut it down yourself?

Real tree, and we go hunt it down and kill it ourselves. When it's done, we often cut off the branches and throw them out, then cut the trunk up and let it cure for a year or so, then use it in the fire pit outside.

We have an artificial tree. The space where we put our tree isn't very big, so we bought a slim artificial tree a couple of years ago and I love it. It has pine cones and berries and goes well with my rustic decor.

Growing up we always had a real tree that my dad would cut down.

We always have a real tree and I'm trying to talk DH into hitting a farm and cutting down our own this year.

We have an artificial tree. One yr we tried the real thing, and I started to cough too much. We have little pieces of the real thing inside though. We are living in the mountains now, and it is wonderful to see how towns have real bows etc.

OT: I took ds to class last night. This is our first yr living here. He says "mom look at the giant star on the tree" (this was down town). I looked and was amazed and then it dawned on me that there was a giant tree underneath it. We both laughed. It is going to be amazing to see the town decorated this yr

Artificial, and I am perfectly happy with it! I have enough messes without having to constantly cleanup pine needles. Or water a tree... that poor thing would die of dehydration within a week because I am horrible at keeping plants alive.

I have a real tree. In the past my dad would chop the tree, but the last couple of years we gone to the local garden center to get the tree.

Sadly, we are a fake tree family. I love the smell of real trees but my kids can not stand it. So I cave to the fake so I don't have to listen to them for a month. But it does make it easy to decorate as it is a pre-lit tree. '

I do get a real pine wreath for the front door!

Last year was the first year we bought a real tree. The experience didn't really add a lot to our holiday so I'm not sure we'll do it again. But we might. I was kind of sad that it didn't have much scent.

We have three fake trees. One is 27 years old and pretty sad looking...it goes on the shelf over the front door and is seen from outside through a window. The others go in the front foyer by the stairs and in our family room.

I grew up with a real tree, but we are now an artificial tree family. I've realized it's a lot less maintenance and aggravation to have a fake one.

Artificial tree. Too many people are allergic in my family and I don't like the needles.

DH wishes we would switch to a fake tree, but we do the real tree. Usually purchase it from a local greenhouse.

We have a real tree. We have never cut our own, always buy it from a garden center.

REAL tree. Every year we buy one from the high school hockey team. I don't have any kids who are interested in hockey and I'm not a fan, but the kids are always so polite and excited that I'm happy to support them, even if they charge $5 more than a few other lots.

Growing up we always had an artificial tree, but I want my kids to have that old-time Christmas kind of memory; choosing the tree as a family, hauling it into the house, sweeping up pine needles, and having that wonderful pine tree smell in the house.
