I didn't last year and I didn't sign up for the free one through my office in time this year (seemed to come really early), so haven't had one this year. I did have them for several years before that.
Nope. I have never gotten a flu shot and I have never had the flu, at least not that I can remember. Maybe as a child. I may catch a cold or two during the year but never the flu.
I stock up on clorax whipes when they go on clearance after the after school rush and once a week wipe down all the door knobs, drawer handles wall corners any where people touch at home and the office.
No, I've never gotten it before this year. Never had the flu either. However, it's now a requirement of my employment, so I got one this year and probably will every year from now on.
I got them when I was caring for my mom and grandma when they were fighting cancer at the suggestion of the their doctors. I had influenza B a few years ago, and it was awful (skipped the shot that year). My kids always get the shots, though.
Yes! My fiancé is on methotrexate and Enbrel for RA, which means his immune system is now weak. Cuts and sicknesses all need to be watched carefully, and we wash our hands a lot (even our boys). Can't be too careful, so I definitely get one every year!
No. I've gotten the flu shot twice in the past and each time I had a miserable winter with one cold/flu after the next. After 2011's misery after the flu shot, I decided to call it quits and take my chances. I know that everyone says the flu shot will not give you the flu, but from my experience, that's what it does to me.
I never used to, then one year (the year the swine flu was huge) I got the flu. It was the most horrible thing I've ever had. It actually didn't last very long (not nearly as long as some colds I've had), but there was one day where it was actually very difficult to just breathe. I've never experienced something as scary as that was before, and I would not ever care to again. So yes, now I get my flu shot every year (has been I think 3 years now? and I haven't had the flu again nor have I had nearly as many colds, which I am not sure is related but I'll take it).
ChezP - I've gotten 3 flu shots now and I've yet to ever actually see the needle. It is TINY.
Yes, we do. My dd has sprung 105 temps in the past, so I feel as though we need it. I haven't gotten ours yet since we have been fighting this darn cold for the past 3 wks. I was going to get it today since I thought we had licked the cold, but dd was up coughing again last night. I know that you can get the flu shot when you have the cold, but I try not too. I want our body to be strong to be able to handle it.
I am hoping this wk to get ours. Fingers crossed we will get it done.
No. My feeling is that since I have never had the flu (In all honesty, I usually go all winter without a cold, too!) I don't feel the need for a flu shot. My doctor tries to make me get one every year and I feel that if and when I do get the flu, it will be time to start the flu shots. to all for a healthy winter.
