1-4-13 Question of the Day!!

Have you ever broken a bone?
If so, did you have to have a cast or have surgery to repair it?

I broke my foot a few years back -- one of those "It'll heal in 6 weeks if we cast it and a month and a half if we don't" kind of breaks. So no cast. It still aches when the weather changes suddenly.

No, except maybe a toe, which didn't need any help since there's not much they can do for that anyway.

I broke my left shoulder. It was just taped up and I had to wear a sling for 2 months...then PT for 8 weeks....no surgery since it wasn't my prominent arm.

I broke my baby toe. Just taped it to the other toe. Wore my crocks since I couldn't get my shoe on. At home I used a walking boot.

I broke my elbow when I was 8 and fell off our horse. I had a cast for either 6 or 8 wks, can't remember. What I do remember is that it sucked because it happened right before school got out, so I had to stay out of our pool for most of the summer! (This was in MI, where the swimming window is not long. )

Yes, my tailbone twice. Obviously no cast for that! LOL! And no surgery. It healed on it's own.

It's possible I broke something in my foot or toe once, but I didn't go to the doctor to find out. I was a teen...it healed fast.

I've broken a few bones - most notably, most of my toes. I don't remember ever having a cast, though. Most of my major bone injuries were sprains.

I broke my arm when I was 2 years old. My Mom and Dad said it took both of them plus 2 nurses to hold me down so the Doctor could put a cast on it. I fell down 2 steps while trying to drag a doll buggy up some stairs.

I broke a bone in my toe when I was a kid. They put it in plaster, only in later years we found out that they put the wrong foot in plaster!
