We have had a dog, parakeet, cockateil, lop ear bunny, aquarium fish , and a hamster. Currently we have the aquarium, a standard dachshund, a parakeet, and 2 blue belly lizards.

When I was living with my parents as a child we had a horse, two dogs, two cats (both of whom lived to be 20!), numerous hamsters and fish.
Since I've been an adult, I've just stuck with dogs. I've had as few as 1 and as many as 5. We currently have 4 - Amos (almost 13 yrs old), Franklin (10 yrs old), Monster (6 yrs old), and Millie (2 yrs old). I love my dogs!!
I have never had a lot of pets growing up but as an adult I had a cat about 20 years ago.
We have recently acquired a new dog. It's a dog that our neighbors abandoned and we took it in. He is about a year old and is a Jack Russell Terrier named Riley. He is perfectly house trained (was already when we got him) and he sleeps in the bed with us at night. He is a delight to have.
I am already dreading having to board him when we go on our next vacation in November.

Growing up we had a series of dogs, mainly chihuahuas. We had one collie, too. Since our marriage, Luke and I have had one mutt dog that my baby sister found on the roadside. We've also had a number of fish. The latest pet was a tabby cat named Clarence who decide when we moved to use the whole new house as a litter box. We have since relocated him to Luke's sister's house in the country where he lives outside. I don't foresee any new pets in our future.

With my allergies, I am allergic to cats and my parents weren't really into having a dog. So, I had a pet parakeet when I was younger. Today, we have a pet guinea pig that is so spoiled!
I remember one goldfish when I was little -- I named him Cleo -- but that's hardly a pet. My dad said no to animals because they were a hassle when we went on vacation.
Once I got a place of my own, I adopted a cat from a coworker who needed to get rid of him. I had Ebony from about 1993 until 2007. We got a new cat just after Christmas 2009. My daughter thinks this one is hers, but that's debatable. Both cats have been black -- I can't imagine any other kind. Though I do say that I either need cat colored carpet or a carpet colored cat.
