| l need a hero... Since the weather was so lousy here and no one felt like cooking, we ordered submarine sandwiches tonight for dinner. Which got me to thinking. What do you call subs where you live and what do you like on them?
Most places around here call them subs, although occasionally I see grinders or tunnels on the menu. For a cold sub, I like ham and provolone cheese with lettuce, mayo, Italian dressing and black olives, and if its served warm, I like meatballs topped w/ sauce and mozzarella cheese. |

| Re: l need a hero... We call them subs here, I've never heard of grinders or tunnels. I liek mine with salami, pepperoni, provolone cheese, lettuce, onions, and ranch dressing. If it's a warm sandwich I like meatball subs. |

| Re: l need a hero... They're HOAGIES in Philly.
Grinders around here are hoagies that have been thrown in the oven to toast the roll and melt the cheese.
I like Italian hoagies with oil, hot peppers, lettuce, tomato and onions and Roast Beef hoagies with a little mayo, hot peppers, lettuce, tomato and onions. |

When I started working I was picking up lunch for one of the managers. He told me to get him a Hero. I was like what A hero... I didn't know what it was ...
I went to the sandwich shop and told them a hero with ......
I was the happiest person when they gave me a food item to bring back to the office.
Thats when I found out subs are heros as well as grinders. |

| Re: l need a hero... I guess we've always called them subs or hoagies. We don't get them often, but when we do, it's almost always from Subway, so "sub" is the chosen term here! |

One of my biggest pet peeves about moving out here to York, is that everyone calls them Subs.... |
